Ayee Gaster is back Ya'll. I really had a lot of experimenting with this one since I had never done transparent fabric before. I wanted to capture that emotion of accomplishment when Gaster realized he had created life in a way, but then the cold realization of what that would mean for his new creation. Its an idea I've had for a very long time, but I've never executed until now. I believed the transparent fabric would helpless he felt to what he had to do in that moment, much like the babies in the tubes.This is based on 's AU, so go check that out of course.

I've got a few things to say, let me start with this.
1: The pure amazingness of this art piece. The lighting, shine, and proportions of the skelefam is so amazing! The cracks in Gaster's skull and the light shining through the bandages on his hands. Really cool, dude.
2: The non-visible emotion in Gaster. Even though you can't see Gaster's face, you can see all the emotions he's going through at that exact moment. Very good job of portraying emotion without expression.
3: My guilty pleasure, ribs! I admit, I have a really bad 'thing' for skeletons and ribs. I don't know what it is, or why I'm attracted to this, but I just am! I love the way they are drawn and shaded. The way you drew Gaster's body through the clothing, really amazing! A bit of a thing that isn't the ribs, is the feet!!! You took the time to detail Gaster's feet, even though viewers may not look at them and appreciate them. Super Sick job, dude!!!

Ah Handplates, what a roller-coaster.
You've got some pretty nifty things going on in this piece; I'm loving the textures, particularly in the test-tubes with the bubbles, that's a fun little detail. I also am loving the multiple light sources and how you went about making Gaster's soul visible through his lab coat, put the light shining though the holes in his hands.
The way you kept the line art in the areas of light is throwing me off a bit though, it makes the coat and bandages look like they're wet they're so translucent, personally, I'd keep the area of Gaster's chest the same, but I don't think we should see the arms, shoulder, or his back as clearly. I don't think that even with the light from the test tubes that the material would be as see-through, maybe make those bones silhouettes instead?
I'm also curious as to how it would look if in the brightest areas you made the line art white instead of black? I feel like some of the struggles you've been having with transitioning to a more painterly line-less style shows in this.
The bottom foot on Gaster also looks weird to me since it's the same shade as the leg/foot siting on top but you've eliminated any shadows or depth from it. If you're going for a vignette look, just make that leg darker, not black but a lot darker.
Over all, the piece is still fantastic. Top notch, looking forward to seeing more. c:

I made the big mistake on this one to draw out the entire skeleton, and then when it came time to cover it, I was like "Oh nu I don't wanna cover all my work" and the lineart ended up coming through. It really does hold it back, and next time I'll do it properly. Thank you so much for the critique man!

I studied this picture very hard and the most admirable part of this was the anatomy of gaster's body. His ribs, pelvis, his soul. Simply wonderful..
