Reference sheet commission for Galidor-Dragon !

Behind the Scenes: While half way through with applying the initial shading, I accidentally saved over the large format version with the 1440p version you see here. Whoops! Needless to say the shading would have turned out much differently had I not made that error, but I moseyed on as best I could and am satisfied with it regardless. I hope you guys like it, too! :>

I like the clean layout that you used to reference this characters' aspects, easily moves between the details. Far as character representation, awesome execution of the different perspectives on the face! The straight forward 'looking-at-viewer' is a rough obstacle for me to surmount still, I find the perspective tricky, But I'd say you nailed it

I'm also glad that you think everything turned out alright, that frontal gave me a lot of trouble (I hadn't rendered a frontal in a very long time before drawing it). While I no longer stick to a single layout anymore, rather making each reference unique to the character represented, we'll see what new designs I can whip out in the future!

Losing the detail was a huge blow, but in the end this ref really shines in its own way. I'm really happy with it!

Your portraits of dragons from head-on is always so beautifully drawn! I struggle so much with that particular view, you nail them every time

That portrait gave me so much trouble!
I redid it about four different times, something was always off. I learned a lot from the trials and errors though, and will continue to push what I learn onto other, more complex, shapes.

I dooo have commission information posted in my journal (should be one of my first posts); however, it is horribly out of date along with the price guide and will be receiving a revamp soon.
Once my current queue is finished I'll be opening up commissions again though! As for art trades, I just don't have the time to really take those on, I'm sorry. ;;

Lovely ref and brilliant work on the character. Pretty colors, great lighting and shading putted into so amazing use. The whole layout is amazing thanks to greatly placed detail shots and touches like parts gout out of 'frame' as well like that tail shot, it's looking awesome with all other things. The portrait is superb, looks really pretty and impressive, I like that he seems to have a gentle smile there, also the lighting on it is my fav part, it also looks like the light is coming from the fire that's in the shot next to it which m,akes it even more awesome xD
