Description Top row- Lynton & Barnstable Van (Tenmille-seen in A Close Shave), G Bachmann S.C.Ruffey, Welshpool & Llanfair open wagon (Accucraft) TR slate wagon (Perfect World) Corris slate wagon (P.S Models), Dropside wagon (Garden Railway Specialists)
Middle Row- TR coach No 1-3 (I P Engineering), Freelance bogie wagon (Swift Sixteen), TR coach No.10 (I P Engineering)
Bottom row- Lynton & Barnstable 4ton open wagon (Accucraft-seen in Season 2-6 & TUGS) and 8ton bogie wagon (Accucrcaft-seen in Henry's Forrest).

Reason i'm posting these recent acquisitions I suppose is for any Sudrian modellers working in 'garden' scale. The L&B wagons and van are too narrow for my Gauge 3 (UK) track but being 16mm scale narrow gauge I imagine you could convert them to run amongst Bachmann's G range as the wheels are already 45mm gauge and the buffer spacing is a doddle to drill out. Can't recommend Accucraft's products enough in terms of quality and I picked up three of their bogies, the one open above and four of the Welshpool & Llanfair opens at their open day clearance sale yesterday The latter are to be re-gauged for Sodor and Mainland stock as they're wide enough for my wants but the L&Y stuff is both too big for the SR/MSR loading gauge and too small for G3. They'll still be a little stubby but the plan is to replace the ends and floor on each and then make them wider, maybe they'll become Wellsworth & Suddery stock or even NWR in an à la TV livery.

I personally wish that there are model era style Gauge 1 Thomas models available

in the retail market.

Well Accucraft's Lynton and Barnstable wagons above actually compliment Bachmann's Troublesome Trucks fairly well as they're about a cm narrower and come with 45mm wheel sets so are pretty much perfect for being an update of the show's mostly G1 stock if you manage to import them to the US. The Welshpool & Llanfair stuff however is too wide for G1 but fine for G and G3 so i'm planning to borrow the CGI brake vans

for the Suddery and Wellsworth Railway when i've got the bread.
Concerning standard gauge stock there's quite a few prototypes available in the UK but again you would have to import i'm afraid (might be worth asking if Accucraft UK and Accucraft US can workout something if you have an eye on anything).

Checking the site they mention about buying in US stock from their counterpart so there's definitely a precedent if you ever want to pursue it.

I've never been able to confirm that the bogie L&B wagons iconically seen in Henry's Forest were from Tenmille's 16mm range but Accuracraft's update along with their other RTR stuff are great products. Had to do quite some surgery to mine due to working in 1:22.5 scale but to give you an idea.

Tenmille's build it yourself kits can still be found here and there on eBay if you're lucky but it can get competitive. Not trying to match the early seasons directly though quite a few still exist in updated form.

Price list here but you would have to enquire about importing.

I believe that the bogie L&B wagons have the same bogies as the season 1 express coaches

had, which were made by Tenmille.

That's possible, same with the the CCT van they gave bogies over fixed wheels perhaps. Despite being on the show since Season 1 I can't recall any scene showing the L&Bs particularly clearly frustratingly but it doesn't matter too much as i'm quite limited by choices in G3 anyway. Still it would be nice if Thomas Merch or one of the other prop enthusiasts were to acquire one, the long absent Old Coaches too

Thanks. The Welshpool & Llanfair wagon has been stripped down now so I just need to add some buffers and 64mm spaced wheels and hey presto Gauge 3 stock Like it though the big long bogie wagon is one solid casting it seems though so my plans to widen it for standard gauge is scuppered....hmm I'm sure I can do something with it and the two others i've got but bugger!

Thank you. I don't currently have any metals for my G3 and SM32 stock but have just ordered a couple yards worth of each, will endeavour to get some of the above converted and or repainted by the time it arrives. The L&B stuff in particular is not suitable for G3, as 64mm gauge wheels are too far apart to be shoehorned underneath but the idea is to use the two 4-wheelers above as a basis for making blown up standard gauge versions.
*Edit it's taken me a good hour to get just one solebar off the W&L truck, by god what a robust model!

Well the second solebar was easier to remove at least and it came off more intact. Need to get some new wheel sets for them anyway so decided to attack one of the bogies and that's easier to cut up at least, hope to have three Henry's Forest type trucks soonish
