I wonder how the tail would do for fishing. iv accidentally took some lizard tales off trying to catch but never tried fishing with them

hmm I suppose they would work, but not a lot of meat on there for hooking and move fast so its still wiggling.

It's definitely from the genus Mabuya, but it could be Mabuya brevieollis or nigropunctata

When I looked at the thumbnail, I thought you had created a bow and arrow set with a target in construction behind it. I was surprised to see the beautiful skink when I looked at the full view.

I think that was the craziest one I have experienced. Most of the time it is just not realizing the details or something, but getting the general idea. That lizard totally threw me for a loop!

Yeah he lived fast, died young Ive always liked lizards.I used to catch wild ones and put them on my shoulder and walk around wearing them. They will stay with you all day as long as you dont scare them.

We have lots of skinks around here - not stripy and red-tailed like this one, but a very similar body shape. So I go with the consensus - it's a skink.

Awww lil cutie! Maybe his tail is red if he is trying to protect himself? You know, like a defence colour change? Many lizards change colour? OK, I'll shut up now coz I really have no idea what it is lol

He's the same family as the little blue fellas you mentioned, but it's a really varied family. Some of them get red markings during mating times

That is a page out of Smithsonian that I have saved for years. A feature on ancient books I think.Pretty neat huh? I have a few photos of old gilded astrological diagrams and illuminated documents written I think in latin.
I love them

Go to ebay and look at antiquarian books. Sometimes sellers will take good close shots of the open pages. I also have a book called "the rainbow book" by F.Lanier Graham. That has some old black and white diagrams or the universe and such. Taht could be very inspiring if you wanted to make your own.
Someday I might print these out on velum so I can make a fake antique book.

I woudlnt say that. I lvoe all critters ,but lizards and bugs are alot of fun to watch. I used to not care much for cats till I found two baby ones abandoned in a feild not even thier eyes open. I fed them with a bottle and now Im their mom.
