This is my (overdue) entry for #WomensHistory2024 , the Women's History Month 2024!
Give it a shot too if you feel like it, here's the journal with the lineart done by @AlexanderPaupoff for this badge challenge!
I wanted to try something different here with texturing and shading, giving things a grittier and harsher look.
Initially I didn't want to go with a pink palette to avoid repetitive stereotypes, but after accidentally applying a grain merge colour of pink… I really really liked it. It didn't look like that before that step happened and was more plain in colours with more contrasting colours.
But now it actually radiates with energy! Until I did that to the artwork it honestly looked pretty dead… Other colours sadly didn't fit, but I'm (overall) pretty happy with the results.
Made with GIMP 2.10 on Xubuntu.
