Happy 20th Birthday dA!

As the challenge in the official birthday journal stated, I have recreated this great artwork by loish in my style!

This was a lot of fun, thanks for the challenge!

I enabled a free download if you like it and wish to use its full resolution as a phone background or something like that for some reason - of course only for non-commercial and personal use.

Considering I didn't manage to find the time to do the last couple birthday challenges (which I plan to do, albeit very belated, they looked fun after all), I was even more so eager on doing this one.

Pity that I won't get the older badges anymore though.

Let's talk about the artwork now...

I really liked the pose, so I kept it that way. Since I also drifted into being a digital artist with time and am also dealing a lot with a stylus (though mine's a Wacom Bamboo stylus and not an Intuos Pro / Cintiq one), I figured I may as well keep the overall image the way it is. Perhaps not the most creative approach, but it allowed me to experiment. I tried to stay truthful to the pose, trying to copy it as closely as possible while adapting it into my style. This was especially interesting because I haven't tried dark skinned characters in this style of mine yet, long overdue! I added more shading details than usual to do justice to the original and because this is something I really wanted to try as well at some point. So, why not now?

Once again: I really enjoyed this challenge for deviantART's 20th birthday.
