A landscape entirely drawn with my laptop's TrackPoint as some sort of mouse-only challenge!

Why this odd title? It's an incredibly bad multi-pun of course!

So essentially, this image is a (down to the minute) 1h speedpainting and mouse-only challenge at once!

It started out as a corona showcase – as in the glow of light, do not confuse with bloom – and then it developed into this landscape painting you see here.

The backstory to this is that on Saturday I was already in bed and after quickly showing someone how I make my glow effects I thought to myself:

"I want to try painting a landscape with just my TrackPoint! That could be fun – or frustrating, let's find out!"

To those who don't know what that is: It's that one nub-type of joystick or rather pointing stick located between the G, H and B keys on keyboards on some business laptops and older laptops, introduced by IBM; in fact my preferred input device when no mouse or tablet is connected or when I'm just too lazy to lift my hand off the keyboard to reach out to my mouse. Such a comfortable position it has… to the point that I miss it on PC keyboards.

I didn't feel like connecting any peripherals that day anyway, I was in bed after all, and as my touchpad is always off (simply not a fan of it – also touch devices hate me), there was just one option left. And so, since I started the sun-like flare with it already, I decided to just end up drawing the entirety of it with just my TrackPoint and do that mouse-only art challenge I've been meaning to do since quite a while by now.

This file is available in 1080p as a free download for noncommercial, personal use cases, e.g. to use as your desktop wallpaper!

I think it turned out just fine considering the limitations I imposed on myself! What do you think?
