You are probably correct. Unfortunately this was at a chambre d'hôte in France which has since been taken over by new owners and, I suspect, that now no art is displayed at all. The previous owner was an artist himself and he and his wife encouraged local artists to display their work. Many of the exhibits were painted by the owner himself. The new owners are, I think, more into minimalist  beige style!
