I’ve been working on this for a while now: a birthday present for KazeYang ! It’s actually still the 23rd for me, but of course time zones are a thing and Taiwan is like a whole day ahead of the western United States, so hopefully I’ve gotten the time right.

So: happy birthday, friend! You’re very cool and I’m glad to have met you

(Also I really really hope the Mandarin text is right, it’s supposed to say Olympic and I tried very hard to make sure it was accurate but I don’t speak the language so it may be slightly off still)

And a few other notes:
-Most of the base colors are sampled directly from Kaze’s Olympic-class reference sheet ! The eyes do feature some green tones near the bottom of the irises which were sampled from a couple other drawings, though.
-I tried to make the facial features as accurate as possible while still using my own style - it was a very fun challenge! In hindsight, though, part of me wonders if I still made the face too long. My style tends to favor longer noses and overall face shapes, but I tried to limit that here somewhat.
-The background is a stormy or at least windy and cloudy seascape. I figured it fit with Olympic’s history and it also uses neutral colors that don’t clash with the main drawing.
-According to my research, Taiwan only uses Traditional Chinese characters, so I made sure to use those here. I had a bit of trouble figuring out what that very last character (號) was supposed to do, but after considerable research (and cross-referencing it against the writing on this sketch of QM2 ) I figured out that it goes after the names of ships. Apparently it also has a whole bunch of other possible uses, too!
