Description
Hey,It's been a while since I last submitted a drawing, but uni is keeping me quite busy these days. And my inspiration also decided to go on holiday.
But there is one thing that I promised for some interested fellow deviant'ers some time ago, and that 'thing' is a drawing tutorial. So... here it comes!
Click the 'Download' button for a full view.
I decided to simply describe my whole drawing process, along with some illustrations for more clarity. The tips and tricks mentioned inside may be already heard by you, but I never ever said that I'm using anything special.
After all, it's always mostly about patience and motivation.
P.S. Please don't use too much critique, since it's my 1st tutorial ever. *puppy eyes* If I get scared, I might never get round to doing another one!
Thanks very much to *redheadstock for wonderful brushes:

I usually work with very smooth paper, but this misty effect, utilizing toothy watercolor paper, is really inspiring! I think I shall give it a whirl! Yay!

I've been searching for a very smooth paper in the stores for a long time, but before I found it I fell in love with this grainy watercolour one. It's really worth a try.

I shall! If you want a really pretty work-surface, though, look at Rives BFK. It's like suede. It's a little hard to find, though.

!! see, this is the kind of tutorial I've been looking for on DA! though it's kinda hard to read cuz its small. *saves anyway*
....by the way, (not to sound like a freak or anything,) but is that Wentworth Miller's eye by any chance??
(really, I'm not obsessed, I'm just curious.) lol

Nice to hear that you find it useful, thanks!
As for reading it- just press "Download" and enjoy normal fonts.
And yeah, you're absolutely right about the subject, who is indeed Wentworth. The finished drawing is now in my gallery.

so all you do is building up layers by shading lightly than adding more pressure onto parts that are dark and leaving some lghtly shaded or not shaded at all? By the way this is a useful toturial better than some i've read.Thinking of doing another one?

Snow-Owl In reply to Elixir188 [2007-11-25 18:14:37 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, something as simple as that. Nice to know you like it, thanks!
I'm not against doing another tut, but maybe not in the very near future.
