Description
"ew, eww, EWWWW...this was SO not worth it!"Well she probably didn't say that, but Smacky will definitely be looking forward to a bath and fighting less sticky and creepy enemies in the future. I learned a lot making this, and it was fun to use that old spider at last. Nothing personal against spiders either, I always catch any spiders I find in a paper cup and put them back outside where they can do their job of eating pests and scaring people.
UPDATED: Darkened slightly. I still don't think my monitor's brightness is as accurate as it should be. Thanks to *0Snow-White0 for the help!
Please zoom in for much sharper and detailed view. Image is actually fairly large for a change!
Rendered in DAZ Studio, lots of postwork in Photoshop CS5. Smacky is Victoria 4, spider is She-Arane from DAZ. Web brushes by Ron. Thank you very much for taking a look!

I don't mind real-like spiders either, but based on the other comments on this pic, we may be the only ones.

Thanks very much, but I have almost no programming skills. Right now I'd be happy to be able to make more than one decent picture a month, haha. Thank you very much for the favorites too!

Awww, that spider should have known better than to shoot his sticky white stuff in her hair. Didn't he know most women don't like that?
I would say, live and learn, but it looks like he wont get the chance.

Aw, why does everyone hate spiders? Thank you very much! I'm glad you thought it looks painterly even though the image is very sharp, I think it's because of the colors and shading. I learned a lot about that making this, so hopefully I can do it again in future pics.

DesignsByEve In reply to SnowSultan [2012-09-03 01:45:30 +0000 UTC]
Yeah it's definitely sharp, but the vibrancy of the colors along with the webs and such does bring out the painterly aspects too And spiders?! Made hubby slaughter one earlier

I had to look up who Quelaag was, never played that game before. One of these days I'll have to try making a dryder (although I much prefer gorgons). Thanks very much!

Thanks a lot, I wanted the spider to be gross. Was a bit tricky to get the webs to look the way I planned, but I guess they came out OK.

Haha, aww...little spiders can be cute! Thank you very much, I'm glad you thought her expression came out OK! I used a lot of adjustment layer masks this time (like lowering the brightness and then painting out where you want it to be lighter), and I was planning on reading what you told me earlier about using stock textures in Photoshop, but I got tired of working on this. Next time!
