Description
Lighter of the VCN's two frigate classes, the Karve-class is far less aggressively oriented than its larger and more heavily armoured Bilander cousin. The Karve plays more of a support role, with a more extensive defensive arsenal than the Bilander, enough so that some refer to it as the 'Heavy Escort'.
Alongside its typical uses as a frigate both in fleet actions and in shooing off pirates, the Karve has the ability to drop into atmosphere and suspend itself there, performing a heavy fire support role as its arsenal against ground targets is more than enough to demolish typical ground forces. This said the Karve in such a role will keep away from the direct frontline, to avoid exposing itself to enemy heavyweight SAM systems.
