The avatar beckoned Ellie closer as a screen winked into life near them. "You already know that strange times are afoot for this solar system", the avatar said. "Politically speaking, we've never been so divided or at odds since the collapse, despite my own interventions, and those of my colleagues. And now, my dearest Ellie, at this junction, at this time- fucking space lizards!"
The avatar gestured at the screen, and an image of a cluster of lights on a black, star-studded background appeared.
"What looks like a fleet, decelerating into the system", said the avatar. "How long?", said Ellie. "Main fleet, four and a half weeks. Vanguard though, only two weeks."
The avatar turned smartly to Ellie. "And that's where you come in, my dear. And your lovely new young friends!"

Daz 4.9 with iRay. Two and a bit hours render, and a bit of time in Photoshop. The hair on the Ellie head I'm using needed a bit of work, it didn't really work well with the lights at this angle- as you can see, the hair looks very much like a video game mesh and texture, lacking the detail of a lot of Daz hairs. So I did a bit of clumsy painting and texturing to try to bring it up from its flat state post-render, with limited success. Ah well, practice etc. etc.
