Description We inherited Duke, the Basset Hound recently. What I mean is Nana and Papa decided to move to California and couldn't take Duke, so we took him so he would be happy. He weighs over a hundred pounds. Stay out of his way at the water bowl or you will get soaked. The other day he grabbed one of Page's stuffed animals and took off. I told him to "Stop and drop it." and he dropped the bear... and the ball... and the cat toy... and the dog bone. He had them all in his mouth! Maybe he's part hamster.

Well.... guess I have to finish my Ring books. You know I actually had to go look up legolas. figured out it is some kind of elf thingee in the Rings stories. No, I haven't seen the movie.... don't want to spoil the book. So I am still lost about the chocolate sauce.... but it sounds very intriguing.

HAHAHA!

I was just shocked when I first saw that photo, I litterally jerked back in my chair, staring and then a wide smile just drew itself across my face; he looks absolutely adoringly hilarious! That's the coolest Bassett Hound I've seen in a long time. Maybe ever. Not that I've seen that many, but...you get my point!

Must be fun having a hamster-dog roaming your house...muahhaha! Maybe he's the one that has taken off with my gloves? Don't seem to be able to find them anywhere.. Oh well. He looked cool. I really love your animal photos!

He's so funny looking when he walks too. It looks like his paws are on the wrong feet. Kind of pigeon-pawed.

that is one funny story....all those toys in his mouth! He must be part hamster! He's cute too for being a basset hound....I guess they're kinda so ugly that they're cute type of dog. I'm usually prefer furry and fluffy. I'm still cracking up with all he had in his mouth! Too bad you couldn't get a picture of him dropping all those things!

He cracks me up. Last night I had some old rolls in the fridge so I gave one each to Sopie, Bailey and Duke. Next thing I know Sopie and Bailey are at my feet,, whining telling on Duke. When I called him, he came in with, of course , all three dinner rolls in his mouth, his cheeks all ballooned out. His mouth was so full he couldn't even eat them, he was just carrying them around.

Too funny Charlene...you could video tape him and submit it to the funniest home videos, he'd win for sure!

He has the classic basset hound bark too.....

aawwwoooofffff aawwwoooofffff

and he has decided he's going to sleep with us. I feel like I'm part of the Three Dog Night group. It starts out with Bailey and Sophie and Duke all sleeping on the floor and then we end up with them all in bed with us.

ROFL at him having all that stuff in his mouth. It's those flappy jaws! They could conceal a small child, I say!
