Great poster - shame about the price (not saying it isn't worth it), but maybe with enough demand it will go mainstream and come down

Reddit, digg, engadget, lifehacker - those I expected to see - but by getting a nod on PCworld you also landed yourself on the yahoo news page under tech, great job!

I've looked for printers/distributers in the past, I've either been ignored, or a huge up-front cost was required to make each unit affordable. I was already a member of DA when I added the print option to my poster. I realize they are pricy for the average Computer Geek, but it beats explaining to the boss why the office plotter runs out of dye so fast.

I missed the link to Yahoo, and couldn't find it through search, do you happen to still have it? Thanks again!

Sonic - typo on Desktop Card Slots part. Take note of the word "Accelerated" 2C, 1L, A between the R and T.

you forgot fiber for networks

and I believe also alot of the old network systems.

Sonic840 In reply to Cold-Assassin [2009-07-23 01:52:00 +0000 UTC]

I started to work on a FIber Connectors poster a few months back... there are so many it's insane, I'd need to separate it into consumer/ISP/Military just to make sense of it, never-mind international plug types. My current poster is primarily consumer based computer hardware, I realize I included some server grade hardware, SCSI, RIMM, etc... Perhaps when I get time I'll pick back up on the Fiber poster.

Thank you for the comment!

A few suggestions for next version:

SATA desktop HDD
socket LGA 775

other than that, pretty awesome!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sonic840 In reply to clone4crw [2009-07-22 01:56:56 +0000 UTC]

the connector for Desktop/Laptop SATA is the same. I am using a Laptop Hdd to save space. Also LGA 775 is there, 4th row down, second one in.

Thank you for the comment.

Awsome stuff, it's worth pointing out - seeing as you seem to be going back so far that a parrallel port is the same design as a long serial

The DIPP memory you have shown is a general image of DIPP module - it can be anything (not only RAM). Lots of all-purpose chips come in dual inline plastic packages

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sonic840 In reply to elvenpath [2009-07-22 01:59:07 +0000 UTC]

that specific chip is 16k of RAM. pulled it form a really old computer of mine. I think it came off a old IBM "Above Board" that plugged into an ISA slot.

it looks like for the "A" type is the same dimensions as 1.1/2.0. Since USB 3 is finally on the way to consumers I can get a streight-on pict of it. Thank you for the link!

hey signed up just to comment on this poster, its great but one of the most obvious omissions is socket 478 the second P4 socket, 423 was the first Desktop P4 socket, then 478, and then LGA 775 i have a spare board kicking around and i can get a good shot with my Dad's M8.2 if you need it. you can email me at wob(remove)ble AT gmail.com

look closer, LGA 775 is third down 2nd in from the left, and I have 4 flavors of P4 socket (1x479, 3x478) on the 4th row. I appreciate the offer, thank you!

indeed, I'm surprised by the turn out... I really wish I had a cheaper method of providing prints.... DA is great, but a little too expensive for most...
