Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not saying people should stop using it altogether. However, I often see people relying a bit too much on it and its female counterpart. I've seen DA galleries that are nothing but "dolls" made with them. To boot, there are a lot of creative characters out there with features beyond the dollmakers' capabilities. I can name a number of my own characters as examples; I looked over the menus and saw no sign of inline skates, multiple heads, or Double Cutters. It may be a good brainstorming tool for beginners, but nobody can be a beginner all their lives.I may or may not make a female dollmaker stamp to go with this one. I'm not sure whether being redundant is better or worse than being sexist.

I agree. I use the dollmakers as reference pics for RPs mostly. Just like I use the Gaia tektek for reference. However, for my comics, I make crappy Paint drawings of the Sonic characters. They may not be as cool looking as the ones off the dollmaker, but at least I drew them from scratch. ^^

Dude,I only use it cuz' I don't have a scanner...I mean,I'm a really good sonic drawer,but,I just can't do on computers cuz' A:It takes long for me to draw on MS Paint and B:I can't....really draw on the computer......
But really.I agree Furry Dollmaker is overused....by me also....(I'm a lazy stick figure....)

I agree people need to stop posting there work on DA takes up space for artist D:, but I do belive if you make a character on the program try to draw it yourslef yous those hands!!!!!!!

I do not like the dollmaker at all. It's very basic and obviously over used. I'd love to have a dollmaker for males but this is the only one. Even google can't find anymore than this one.

Yep... I use the furry dollmaker, but i usually only do that to get started on a character, and i do post them so if i want people to make their version of the character they can see what they look like first. but yea people are over using it, and i am probably one of them... please dont hurt me. Besides, i only plan on having other people seeing what my characters look like, to just get an idea tho, and then maybe i might change what they look like.

I agree with you. I've seen galleries where this doll maker thing pretty much makes up the gallery.
I guess this should also go with the all of those bases shinazz.

Well spoken and I kind of agree with both sides. I can definitely vouch for the fact that it was SUPPOSED to be just a fun little creation tool that could help give some ideas to people if they wanted. I was the one who came up with the tabs system on the thing and neither me or Gen8 ever saw it becoming as popular as it did.
Even the DA staff don't like people posting screenshots of a Dollmaker and putting it in their gallery, both of her Dollmakers say you can only have 'em in scraps but most people don't listen.
Unfortunately there's not really any way to stop people abusing it, same with any system really. Taking it down just defeats the purpose of it in the first place and the time taken to make the thing.

A lot of people have told me I should be upset by this, but I'm not! You know, I would go as far as supporting it too.
I suppose when I made it I always intended it to be a tool for beginners, or just something fun to muck around in to get ideas. I'm pretty unhappy that the majority of people think a screen shot is a piece of art or even an original character (My featured Deviation discourages this strongly)

She did say you can upload them though if you give them credit and post a link to the male furry dollmaker without permission you should read the whole thing though how ever it isn't really artwork they should add a dollmaker section to make it even without being reported. Soooo what im saying is there should be a section on DA to allow you to put it up but in a Dollmaker section
