Description Previous Version from July

the, like, grassy strip around the mountains there, that will probably either be expanded into, you know, a lot bigger lol, or the waterfall goes down to another level of land instead of the ocean. the idea was when celestian told daetorious that the city was named "heaven falls" and daetorious asked if he meant "as in the waterfall of heaven or the downfall of heaven", it can now go both ways since the whole city was actually destroyed/abandoned but in the beginning it was originally named for "the waterfall of heaven" and all the man pretty falls at the farm are nothing compared to the actual gigantic waterfall that's just down below Waterfall Ridge, which truly is "divine" in its utter magnificence and falls for like a mile or something i donno, it's big and amazing.

the spire is the exact north pole of the planet so going any direction from there is south, and to go from heaven to hell you "go norther to the spire then go south". the spire is meant to be a very bizarre, disorienting, illogical place full of wonder and mystery, and being between heaven and hell it's aligned with neither light nor darkness so the native creatures there are "both beautiful and grotesque, wondrous and terrible" so you can't tell "the difference between good and evil" because there is not "difference" there, the spire is the "balance" between them not the difference between them.

also it's been changed so that hell looks a bit small from up here because most of it is underground. where it should be. because duh. yeah, it took us until now to realize that, ahem. the multiple rings/circles of hell go down to...whatever it's supposed to be, nine? i'll google it later.

i want heaven to be a "city in the sky" and in this arrangement it's just so high up that it's surrounded by clouds and you can't see it from way down there at sea level, but it would probably make more sense if it literally floats and the spire is underneath on the level of normal ground, and then hell is underground below it. that's the traditional sense of "between heaven and hell" and "heaven is up, hell is down" etc, but i had a thought that i want the spire to be a place "higher than heaven" and that it's the highest elevation on the entire planet, literally "overlooking the rest of the world" because it's where all the planet's magic is most intensely concentrated, ergo, "whoever controls the spire controls the world." there is so much magic around the spire that all laws of logic and making sense are nullified and i can draw literally whatever i want there, while other places can keep the more semi-real setup.

it still isn't complete and i still don't know how big to make everything. i feel like i'm making Waterfall Ridge Farm too big and it should be separate little farms/stables instead of one big place. in the beginning I thought harpg would be simpler with "one stable" but if the idea is to branch out and populate the kingdom over time, that's not going to work. for now though i'm going to continue to focus on this specific area as "Waterfall Ridge Farms Cooperative" being the name of the whole community if individual farms working together. one idea is that this are provides all the non-fish food for all the other merpeople all over the kingdom but i don't want to set anything in stone in case there are a bunch of time lapses and i wanna start dumping little villages or herds of wild horses or something throughout the land. if they are far enough apart they can start forming their own little, like, "the horses at this place are all this breed or that color" and whatnot, because they're too far away to share studs with other places.

i also added landmarks to define property lines, like val has all the forest and daetorious has from this river to that river, etc.

anywho, i haven't been feeling well and just suddenly lost all inspiration/motivation for drawing the storyline so i switched over to maps and worldbuilding for a bit. the point of the project is to have all kinds of different things to do so i don't get bored and i can do whatever helps me most at the time, and be able to keep all the work i do connected to one thing that will grow over time instead of just doing random stuff.
