Heralded by the drumbeat of galloping hooves too heavy to be Silver Dawn and too light to be Sin, a grey and brown horse suddenly appears, scattering Celestian's sheep and chasing them around. When they won't play with her, she bucks and kicks and shakes her head, and passes by Celestian like a gale as she vanishes into the fog.

Baffled, Celestian moves to collect his flock, pausing as a dark shadow in the rain forms into Daetorious on his mighty draft horse hurrying toward him.

Daetorious: "Uh... surprise?"

Celestian: <_< ...

Daetorious: "She was going to be a present to make up for, you know, what happened with Sin, so you'd have a horse to ride while Silver Dawn is in foal. You said you'll be too heavy for her in the winter anyway [ Celestian's species gains weight in cold temperatures, its the same as blubber on whales/dolphins to keep them warm ] and I remembered you like pale-colored horses, so I thought you would like her. I put her in a stall but apparently the turnout gate was open."

Celestian left the gate open for Silver Dawn in the previous chapter.

Daetorious: "Aaaand she spooked over nothing and took off and jumped straight over the fence."

Celestian, still rather startled, doesn't know how to respond right away.

Daetorious: "I'll just, uh, yeah. Go get her..."
