Special Features: This class is equipped with an experimental Anti-shield intersection grid on its main fuselage. This grid minimizes damage when attacked from shield missiles, and starships raising their shield, intersecting with it. This grid is too expensive to also cover the engines and pylons, so these less important parts are still an open target for these kind of attacks.

Description: The Chapela class is a scaled down version of the Anthem class. While it loses some of its armaments, it maintains its strong armor and Anti-shield intersection grid, with the added benefit of a reduced size. It has the same bridge protection abilities as the Anthem class, which will be even more useful with a scaled down, and less powerful shield system. While the Chapela class boasts fewer weapons than the Anthem class, the Chapela’s batteries are more spread out across the ship, with more rear facing turrets, meant for better escort capabilities, and functionality in a fleet.

Fun Facts: Even when deployed with the superiorly armed Anthem class, many commanders still prefer the Chapella class to be the forwardmost vessel in a fleet. The reasoning for this is that if a ship passes it, and engages the other ships in the fleet, it can still project firepower behind itself.
