Description
The full title of course, would be "Space Turtle Surfs the Cosmos II"Some of you may recall that I did this composition previously, as part of the Art vs. Art competition. But while I liked the design, the terrible quality of materials and the time limit I had to deal with in Art vs. Art meant that I wasn't terribly happy with the final result. So when we were given the chance to paint anything we liked for our three final paintings in Watercolor II, I thought Space Turtle would be a fun thing to do. :3 And as you can see looking at the AvA painting, (flameraven.deviantart.com/art/β¦ ) there's really no contest. This one completely owns the other.
EDIT: Took another picture, and now you can see better how vibrant the colors are. It's still a bit dark, so I may have to tweak it slightly later, but it's better than it was.

I'm aware of Discworld, but that's not the inspiration for the piece; I came up with Space Turtle before I started reading Pratchett's books.

I never say that you stole it from Pratchett, but the similarity is amazing.
no offense^^

I wasn't saying that you implied that..? It's a similarity I'm aware of, although Space Turtle is far smaller than Great A'Tuin, for one, and definitely doesn't have a planet on his back.

This is such a colorful and creative picture, I really think it's great. I really like the line art too, it's like a coloring book but about 1000% better.

My first intial thought when I saw this piece was 'Why?' Then I laughed as that thought was chased off by the words 'Why the hell not?!'
I love it! Such an original and brilliant idea! There's a lot of animal that would not fit very well in space but, for some reason, I can totally picture the turtle crusing around the galaxy. Its bloody brilliant! For some unknown reason, it reminds me of the flying whales in Fantasia 2000 but I would take a turtle over a whale most days of the week Nicely done!
