Description the "polished" top half of this work (which i have mixed feelings bout now: )

CRT people, i'm sorry i'm still getting used to this monitor. you guys probably just see a big black rectangle with a signature on it. my apologies.

TECHNICAL BITS:
is it a person, or is it an animal? is it a scene? can it be considered anime without the eyes?? NOT QUITE ANY OF THE ABOVE. i hate anything titled "misc" but i'm afraid i was outta options!
this was a fucking bitch ass pain to finish tonight. for the first time almost ever i had more overlay settings selected on layers than "normaL/none." my computer was crapping itself and drooling with all the ram the live settings required. even after i flattened the shit to add my sig, poor guy wasn't fully recuperated. piece'a crap.

i know he has no nipple. i will draw eight-titted pregnant anthro women more easily than i draw man-nips. i'm sorry. if it reeeal'y bothers you, to the point of hissyfitting poopypants and losing all your respect for me, well then i guess, bite my ass. you draw it. on your time and your computer. i'd rather draw cocks.
that wall art was soooooo improvised. if i'd spent more time on it it wouldn't have been as obscured. i really did not intend to finish this tonight, and whaddo you know. rush rush rush.

OPTIONAL STORY DETAIL:
the Ox King in his mountain prison, standing in some sunlight that probably only comes through that VERY LONG VENTSHAFT like, fifteen minutes for three days out of the year. he's probably still wondering what he's doing there, how he got there, how long he had been 'asleep' and where his priestess hobag of a girlfriend and her mother are, and if they had anything to do with it.

the whole "maze" aspect of the prison is kind of not the reason why he can't get out; both spiritual wards AND physical obstructions are (like the place has no door and is located at the center of a mountain). it just has lotsa windey hallways (with artwork? what the hell was the point of that?)

the labyrinth idea, for some reason never to be known to mankind, survived the test of time through Bastaatian lore and wound its way into the prototype of the story of Minos and his famous taur and his two-timing bestiality-loving wife. i don't write the history books, i just rewrite them to reconcile my story with the common myth.

anywhoo, afforementioned girlfriend knocked out the vulnerable lovestruck ascellus Toreas, sealed him temporarily in a statue (of himself lololol) and then mamadukes Hamuska spent the rest of her natural (?) life having his new home dug out. lotsa dead workers.

why did she do this? maybe she wanted the best for mankind by removing the murderous scourge that was the Ox King and his brothers from the face of Bastaat. or maybe she's just a bitch.

unfortunately this glowy, blue-y light is somewhat nauseating to poor Toreas, as it's rendered yazol flower painted into the wards, so he spends very little time awake and about for about five hundred years. then he "somehow" gets out, futzes around, killing people, living life to the fullest for a couple centuries, gets bored, and goes back "home" to thisplace to sleep for another dozen decades. humans can get inside there if they want, but most don't dare.

there are some lingering believers as time wears on, and the world modernizes a little (dark ages,) who construct a shrine at the opening to the caverns and pray to the once-almighty-now-dormant Ox King to make them stronger/sexier/cocks bigger. humans do this with a lot of Ascelli for various reasons. humans are dumb and will believe anything. *continues talking about magical animals*

though later on in life, "Terrence" is criticized for not doing a whole lot after his heyday on Bastaat, the elder guys respect his power and his longevity (even if he only survived so long by sleeping a lot). afterall, he could still kick YOUR ass.

do i have too many pictures of this guy? i need more pictures of this guy. as his normal gun-slingin, GTO-drivin, whiskey-drinkin snakeskin & denim Earth self. but in the moment let's enjoy his old world charm.
...

moment over.

they don't so much clash with eachother as much as do insecure vector artists go on with hunts when someone uses some kind of technology they're not familiar with. THIS PWNS TOO HARD TO BE THE SAME THING I DO! WTF!?

CRT, dud.. it just seems to have a greater range... in reality it's just so dark. and the light pollution is terrible, not just glare from utside sources but internal glare (like what DA's bright ass background is doing to my picture as you look at it, the character in my version doesn't pop out at all as much as coexist with the dim lighting of the bg)

i hope the technology in the flatpanels gets a *little* better, like with contrast and whatnot, but in all... i'll never go back.

thanks for diggin this man.

Try a Sony. That's what I use...unbelievable range of color. Pure snow whites to midnight black. Check it out. Got mine on ebay, shipping and all, for like $100. Not a bad deal.

my monitor didn't have color or brightness problems, it's just the inherent drawback of the CRT monitor because the principle of illuminating a slab of glass cannot work without light pollution. the softer forms (especially on text) i do miss a little, as the cells in a LCD screen are way bigger the RGB cells in a box monitor, but... it's worth it.

just cuz it's brighter doesn't necessarily mean the gamma's all fucked up and my greys and colors are all bright and diluted... i get black-black on here. my menu and window BGs are 000000 black and i can't tell them from the edge of my monitor case with all the lights off.

face it dude the technology's got a ways to go but it's already regression to stay on a CRT.

I like the bg image. It's pretty cool. My crappy screen took a sec to adjust, so did my eyes(stupid light DA settings). I like the skull and ears/earings, too. Awsome work. Cool story. I read in like... three... four to five mins? Whiney people... They'll live. And if not, not our prob, right? lol.

certainly not our prob yeah, it looks a lot longer than it takes to read. i don't prattle on and repeat myself a whole lot.

i'm glad you like the ears they almost didn't make it to the final cut o_o!

Yeah, you're pretty straight-forward. I don't like people who like to say the same thing over and over every time they talk.

Well I'm glad they did make it! It does a lot, even if it is a small part! ^^ They go good with the skull, too.

I love the light commin in. Because you can tell it's sunlight. Because of the few red spots on his skin. That's a nice touch. The dark is beautiful. It's pretty amazing. I think i'm gunna fav it. I can't express in words really. But I like it very much.

OMG DRAW TEH NIPPLZ NOW PLZ. *brick'd*

I love the lighting, and his eaaarsss and the colours. The skull looks effing amazing too. The lighting coming from the top is pretty and is a good contrast against the cold colours~ [listen to me, being all pseudo-arty-farty]

Well done!

arty fart! farty art.

thanks dude hhaha. and.. are you serious with the nipple thing!? NO MEANS NO. i hate man nips ._. nothing personal against them or seeing them or that they exist, i just hate drawing them. they're so stupid to draw.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AmzarahGunn In reply to sparkpenguin [2007-01-20 06:17:43 +0000 UTC]

I wasn't being serious, I just wanted to be an ass. Rofl. And I know what you mean, it feels weird for me too.

sparkpenguin In reply to AmzarahGunn [2007-01-20 10:50:22 +0000 UTC]

i feel like, when i'm drawing titties, at least there's a purpose to the nipple, y'know> it's like icing on the cake when it comes to drawing nudity. it's not final til you add the nipple.
but on guys? i dunno. it just seems pointless and lackluster. and guynips are so... laughable. the fact that even my cat has them makes me laugh in my sleep at night sometimes. i wonder if all mammals have man-nips, maybe bulls do. i don't want to get close enough to find out and get a hoof in my teeth.

I like the cow skull on his head alot, and the bull figure on the background is just amazing, very nice coloring!

only thing i see that needs work are the guy's muscles, they kinda look like crash dummy plated arms and body, but heck this is probably better than i could do as far as muscles and body proportion goes

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sparkpenguin In reply to Cadc [2007-01-20 05:28:12 +0000 UTC]

yeah, i'm not very good with vectoring any kind flesh that isn't a face, or a smooth woman's body. the lineart i worked with was good enough, but without the bloodsplatter the shading is very weak and synthetic on its own.

First. AWESOME PICTURE! Second. AWESOME STORY! The way you tell it makes it so fun to read. "his priestess hobag of a girlfriend", "that VERY LONG VENTSHAFT like, fifteen minutes for three days out of the year". It made my bad day brighter.

sparkpenguin In reply to Cinematic-Grey [2007-01-20 05:23:53 +0000 UTC]

you had a bad day!? that's the fucking shitpits dude.
i'm glad you like my totally unprofessional rendition of my story content. i try to keep it in the vernacular engineered to brighten days.
so, what happened?

Cinematic-Grey In reply to sparkpenguin [2007-01-20 05:46:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah bad day. Your story content can entertain anyone. My bad day was just normal...shit. Presentation with a partner who didn't prepare so I had to stay up till late to finish it and memorize it. Lack of sleep. Tests that my brain completely died on. Teachers unnaturally bitchy. Got a soccer ball kicked into my stomach. And random news that one of my friends will probably move at the end of the year. Which makes 4 of my (best) friends moving away. Since 3 are already likely to move. Thats what hit me the most and made the day just bad.

sparkpenguin In reply to Cinematic-Grey [2007-01-20 08:05:28 +0000 UTC]

i could see how everything would seem incidental up until the big news about your friend. really just puts the cherry on the whole shit-cake.

in the end though, i'm sure most of it probably will turn out to be little and incidental except for that. wouldn't sweat it much.

Cinematic-Grey In reply to sparkpenguin [2007-01-20 11:28:37 +0000 UTC]

Yeah everything else was nothing compared to that. I realized that this morning. Yesterday I was still eating the shit-cake.

remember: warm leftovers go on the counter. return them to the fridge only after they've cooled or the condensation under the wrapping will spoil them!

ROFL isn't it bad enough if she doies that than if she does it with, like, say, the livestock out in the barn? i mean that's just insult to injury.

why does cheering for LOA make you gay !? *whap*
