Description
the "polished" top half of this work (which i have mixed feelings bout now: )CRT people, i'm sorry i'm still getting used to this monitor. you guys probably just see a big black rectangle with a signature on it. my apologies.
TECHNICAL BITS:
is it a person, or is it an animal? is it a scene? can it be considered anime without the eyes?? NOT QUITE ANY OF THE ABOVE. i hate anything titled "misc" but i'm afraid i was outta options!
this was a fucking bitch ass pain to finish tonight. for the first time almost ever i had more overlay settings selected on layers than "normaL/none." my computer was crapping itself and drooling with all the ram the live settings required. even after i flattened the shit to add my sig, poor guy wasn't fully recuperated. piece'a crap.
i know he has no nipple. i will draw eight-titted pregnant anthro women more easily than i draw man-nips. i'm sorry. if it reeeal'y bothers you, to the point of hissyfitting poopypants and losing all your respect for me, well then i guess, bite my ass. you draw it. on your time and your computer. i'd rather draw cocks.
that wall art was soooooo improvised. if i'd spent more time on it it wouldn't have been as obscured. i really did not intend to finish this tonight, and whaddo you know. rush rush rush.
OPTIONAL STORY DETAIL:
the Ox King in his mountain prison, standing in some sunlight that probably only comes through that VERY LONG VENTSHAFT like, fifteen minutes for three days out of the year. he's probably still wondering what he's doing there, how he got there, how long he had been 'asleep' and where his priestess hobag of a girlfriend and her mother are, and if they had anything to do with it.
the whole "maze" aspect of the prison is kind of not the reason why he can't get out; both spiritual wards AND physical obstructions are (like the place has no door and is located at the center of a mountain). it just has lotsa windey hallways (with artwork? what the hell was the point of that?)
the labyrinth idea, for some reason never to be known to mankind, survived the test of time through Bastaatian lore and wound its way into the prototype of the story of Minos and his famous taur and his two-timing bestiality-loving wife. i don't write the history books, i just rewrite them to reconcile my story with the common myth.
anywhoo, afforementioned girlfriend knocked out the vulnerable lovestruck ascellus Toreas, sealed him temporarily in a statue (of himself lololol) and then mamadukes Hamuska spent the rest of her natural (?) life having his new home dug out. lotsa dead workers.
why did she do this? maybe she wanted the best for mankind by removing the murderous scourge that was the Ox King and his brothers from the face of Bastaat. or maybe she's just a bitch.
unfortunately this glowy, blue-y light is somewhat nauseating to poor Toreas, as it's rendered yazol flower painted into the wards, so he spends very little time awake and about for about five hundred years. then he "somehow" gets out, futzes around, killing people, living life to the fullest for a couple centuries, gets bored, and goes back "home" to thisplace to sleep for another dozen decades. humans can get inside there if they want, but most don't dare.
there are some lingering believers as time wears on, and the world modernizes a little (dark ages,) who construct a shrine at the opening to the caverns and pray to the once-almighty-now-dormant Ox King to make them stronger/sexier/cocks bigger. humans do this with a lot of Ascelli for various reasons. humans are dumb and will believe anything. *continues talking about magical animals*
though later on in life, "Terrence" is criticized for not doing a whole lot after his heyday on Bastaat, the elder guys respect his power and his longevity (even if he only survived so long by sleeping a lot). afterall, he could still kick YOUR ass.
do i have too many pictures of this guy? i need more pictures of this guy. as his normal gun-slingin, GTO-drivin, whiskey-drinkin snakeskin & denim Earth self. but in the moment let's enjoy his old world charm.
...
moment over.

And is it wrong that my eyes were immediately drawn to the word "cocks" in your description? Oh dear.

The skull is fucking epic. and I love his hair. The colours as so vivd.
And don't worry. I did read it.:
(with artwork? what the hell was the point of that?) this made me 'lol'. There's always a reason for art!

Defiantly my favorite bit. I mean I'll be a fan-[boy?] and say it was the laugh of the "stronger/sexier/cocks bigger" bit; but it was also a good little moment. A quick commentary on how dumb a lot of religious worshiping and human habits are. Unless I just misread the message of that bit. If so, I warrant a slap.
In general. Fucking kick ass pic, and sounds like a brilliant story line. Keep it up.

nono, you read it correctly. i use this race to fill in the gaps in a lot of otherworldly beliefs humans have generated; they're the universal Non-Humans. so naturally, in the LOA universe, the gods of ancient egypt and the monsters of christian and greco-roman mythology and anything else you can think of, are stories of Ascelli that have been blown out of proportion by humans (though in some cases it's accurate, cuz they truly are amazing. )
i'm glad you got enjoyment out of reading it. as for the artwork bit, i mean come on just imagine how much paint it'd take to decorate the entire inside of a labyrinth system of a whole mountain! NOT EVEN mentioning it from a human resources point of view... i mean the manhours would be outrageous, the job hazards are obvious (poison paint) and royalties? i mean come on someone would want extra dollar for art enjoyed by the ox king for all of eternity artists are whores like that.
we say fanperson around here! because i make it a point to be as politically correct as possible every hour of every day! i don't see in gender, or color, or species-- which is why i accidentally had sex with the washing machine this morning... whoops... hey i hadda make sure you knew i was joking somehow.

Well I'm Glad. I find it amazing how literal people can take books *Hack* Bible *Caugh* which were written thousands of years ago. We humans love over exaggerating.
Yeah when it comes to gods and legends, people like to go out of their way, to the point of death most times. Show's how desperate we are for direction and purpose, that we would sacrifice so much for the things we have to justify it all.
Lots of vibrations with that kind of partner

well no; i believe the bible could be true in any iteration, just not true anymore... reality is malleable and i don't doubt the rules are constantly changing when it comes to what flies with magic/alchemy/science. BUT-- and this is crucial-- it's that belief that makes it ridiculous to me that anyone would think there is only one God presided over all existence and that Earth was not inhabited by tribes of people from different backgrounds, places that may or may not have been governed by different creating bodies or what have you.
evolution is tidier than creationism, but the key is, they're both bunk and it's okay not to know. but it's like you said, we'll do anything to just find out the why or the how, and in a way that's beautiful-- but killing eachother over which god is more true than the next is fucking retarded. if someone can't be happy just finding hope or comfort or WHATEVER drives them to follow one religion, maybe they should just go meet their maker. the hindus... they've got it right. no conversion, no mission, just doing their own thing.
who's to say in another universe there wasn't a six-armed race of people and perhaps one of them on earth is cooler than a million human beings and worthy of worship. but no... people are still waiting for aliens to land. peacefully. jackasses.
take into account, thousands of years ago, the rules were probably different... so few people afterall. there are more people walking the earth than have lived and died in human history (the last 15k years or so, real "humans" not Lucy hominids and whatnot).
lol vibrations...

Well I guess we just live by what keeps us going. It all comes down to being able to be civil about it and not force your beliefs on others. no one is 100% sure after all.

a-fucking-men... that's the biggest rule there is.
i mean i amuse myself postulating how i can make fanciful things seem possible for my story content, but i'm not so delusional as to believe what i'm saying has ANYTHING more than a possibility or that i should start a Dianetics-style religion based off of it.

it's really all up to interpretation. It adds some depth to stories if there's some kind of background too it, wether fictional or fact, or a bit of both; Twisting what is half legend and half truth into what you believe works. I do it with [Kill Me] a fair bit

ROFL SOMEONE NOTICED
i <3 chasey lain's crotch and it <3's me.
TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION: they're always only half in touch with a physical realm on what terms they choose to be, so kinda. and they are capable of manipulating the elements in unnatural ways, which inspires awe and fear in human beings; suchly 'god' would be an interchangeable term with 'demon' in terms of their one-upping other inhabitants of a reality. the only thing that discounts them as gods is that they don't govern or create anything.
but to be technical: they never bear any substantial mass (as a living thing anyway) on any plane because of the fact that they're cosmic anomalies. even though they can move and be limited by/interact with things, their physical forms are very malleable and behave like energy on the proper command (like how sprites are just light in a computer screen but bear form in the reality the exist in; the game). aside from being animals or humans they can exist in a kind of energy form, visible or not, (like samson does with his minions) but it's not very useful if you're not samson so why bother. they're not all-mighty though. the idea behind them was inspired by the nature and workings of demons in old Japan.

Good work. The skull gives a chilly vibe to the picture, and the darkness makes the character itself pop out. And yes, raster and vector clashing is occasionally aggravating, lol.
