Finally, an advice i have been searching for a very long time!

I've been very socially awkward around people who i don't know and especially being in a large group of parties or being in a new group.

Not to mention how lonely it feels being there, not being able to talk to anyone, and just people-watching...

Thank you Spaz!

A Mary Sue's traits make her not sueish if she fails to apply them. This is what happened with Nadia Su - she is selfish and obnoxious, but nobody cares about it.

You will be surprised how common is that kind of behaviour (and i bet you are not), people are like that, "ITS ALL ABOUT ME" is waaay too easy to use as a excuse for "half-decent" social skills, and it just gets worse in the internet where people "can" do anything they want and "get away with it"

one big example is online gaming in general, especially call of duty and other first person shooter games, there is literally all about you, is the kind of game where you shoot people and try to not die, sure, there is a "team" based mode, but you just can't shoot -some- people, and everything else is the same
but lets look at MOBAs now, dota2 and league of legends (the one I'm playing now) for example, five random people trying to kill the other 5 other people main building and win, looks simple right? sure it is, with proper teamwork everything is possible, and there lies the problem when you have a "ITS ALL ABOUT ME" person in your team, if they die is your fault for not protecting them (and dying with them), or for not telling them they were in danger (think they always ignore), or for any other tiny pointless reason, it doesn't matter, its someone else fault, not theirs

And when you have 5 people like this in the same team, things go bad, quickly

The same applies for our everyday life, group many (or more than two) "ITS ALL ABOUT ME" people and things will go bad, quickly

and the worst thing is, +50% of "ITS ALL ABOUT ME" people are impossible to deal with, its impossible to change their way of thinking to make them better people, because they will not accept advice from someone else other than themselves, even if their life literally depended on it (and it probably does)
that's why the "elo hell" exist in league of legends (long story~...), that's why severe conflicts happen
Because they don't see others as people

I was actually thinking of typing 495 years, but it's been over five years since then. It wouldn't make sense to say she's always been locked up down there for 495 years.

If Flandre was no longer locked up after EoSD for some reason, it would still apply.

Ok I'll take this from the top.
Youmu with a shotgun is possibly one of the scariest thing ever.
I'm with Nadia with the scared by cleaning the clock. EVERY clock i have seen had been dustier that the Dust Bowl.
And Last thing. I'll go on ahead and admit it. I was pretty much Jack in this one, to a degree. I felt that since i have... *ahem* unique interest, nobody would really care about what i would have to say, and i would just be boring them out of their minds.
Thank you very much Spaztique. I always felt..... alone in conversations, and sometimes i would unintensionally dominate conversations. This will be a great help for me.

Aaaaand, this is why even from a young age i usually got along better with "older" people, 'em youngsters simply don't know how to have a real conversation, at least now being more or less an "adult" myself people around my age can be tolerable.

Also are those kunai used as decorative icicles/bauble-type-things?

I've been actually applying the tips and instructions mentioned throughout this guide. I realized it is always nice to find what other people have to say, what's on their mind or what they're in the mood to talk about, I end up being interested into something I probably never even heard about, a plus that has always helped me, it's that I always like to learn something new everyday so I welcome any kind of conversation.

Just by doing this my social skills have come far in the last few months.

Hmm....so to reiterate, Nadia's mistake was always wanting to talk about herself. What about Jack?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

Spaztique In reply to Kigurou-Enkou [2013-05-08 05:16:55 +0000 UTC]

Jack believed that the only way to go about talking to people was to find people with similar interests.

The error is that if you only go looking for the people you know are into your topic is...
1. People have more interests and opinions than just your one interest, and they may not even agree.
2. It keeps you from talking to other people.

pizywizy506 In reply to Kigurou-Enkou [2013-05-08 05:00:02 +0000 UTC]

I believe Jack's mistake was that he only wanted to talk about his topic, rather than just talk with the people at the party, and have a normal conversation where topics go into one another, etc.

By the way, I've been meaning to ask this - I know that submissions of the "Twilight of the Hakurei" is over, but can I still make my own story around that event? I promise I'll try not to clash with your and everyone else's stories (I'll make sure to read all of them beforehand). ^_^

You can make your own sidestory thing, but you can't submit it to the TotH folder. Talos Angel actually did a sidestory thing herself, so people have done this before, meaning it's fine.
