(Unless you have very low self esteem and every time something gets screwed up, you automatically assume it was your fault.)

I think this may stem from the fact that the head of a group is often representative for the whole community. So, yes, a common user doing something bad is not as significant as an admin doing so.

People look to the negatives all the time, it's literally the first thing people notice. We're human, and that's how it is, and probably always will be.
"A person is smart, people are stupid.", can be fixed just as well to, "A person is a book, people are a library."

Tank dies, blame the Healer.
Healer dies, blame the Tank.
Party wipes, blame them both.
It's somehow NEVER the fault of the DPS.

Tanking and healing are roles with a lot of responsibility involved, and their mistakes tend to get the group killed outright, making them easier to notice than those of the DPS who's lobbing fireballs at the dragon in a somewhat suboptimal way. DPSers also tend to be more numerous, allowing them to split the blame more easily, while a group will usually not have more than one or two tanks and healers.

Even when it's a lack of DPS, it's somehow not the fault of the DPS Ā

Isn't the DPS usually really squishy anyway?
I'm just not sure how well this analogy works.

You do something right. No one remembers.
You do something wrong. No one forgets it.
The way people do it is the bigger your rank is, the bigger your representation of the people below you.
The logic here is if someone that high up is like that, then the people below must be worse. That's why this logic type exists and that's also why people like that get my motto.
I hate you. Die in a fire.
... Did what I say even have any relevance here?... I dunno at this point... you decide.

That's how the stereotype from public works.

this is too true. I think this has to do with people's natural disposition towards enforcers. as a matter of fact I wouldn't be surprised if you could find a lot of parallels between the situation in the wagon and the police brutality topics trending around nowadays.

I REALLY wish people weren't like that. An entire group of people should not be blamed for ONE PERSON'S actions...
