"Beloved" eh? Well we all have a pretty fair idea of what Count Dracula does to his "beloveds" and it doesn't strike me as a very loveable sort of treatment ...

Especially how he treated his Weird Sisters or "Brides" while proclaiming "I too can love"....
Then again look no further to how he reigned during his mortal days as "Vlad the Impaler" which that should give you a hint.....
Of course from the Wisdom of Smiling Jack from Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines:

Well, if one DOES buy into the "Vlad the Impaler = Count Dracula" theory (as mentioned previously I consider it a perfectly valid approach, but prefer a more mysterious origin for THE Vampire Count) then there's at least one legend that he ... well ... cut open one of his lady friends on the understanding she might have been carrying some other fellow's child (I don't remember the precise details, mostly because they were deeply unpleasant).
This is, of course, a legend and not sober History (Heaven knows the Impaler was slandered as often as any despot).

Maybe may have forgotten about this page all the way back in issue 2....
So pretty much confirmed that this Count Dracula is no other than Vlad the Impaler since well it kinda makes sense in a way which even in the original book it's mentioned he fought Turks when Jonathon asked him questions about his past so he's obviously from House Drăculești no doubt and definitely came from that bloodline and maybe you could have it that maybe entire Drăculești bloodline are vampires which would be rather fitting I guess.

I am aware that Spearhafoc chose the "Vlad=Count" interpretation, I was merely restating my own personal take on things for the record; also, as far as fighting the Turks goes it would have been a very unusual Balkan aristocrat who DIDN'T fight them at some point between the Fall of Constantinople and the collapse of the Ottoman Empire!

Also note that Sarah calls New York/Astradam "Decadent"....I guess I also right that Dracula apparently has no interest in the US due to it's history of being born of bourgeois rebellion that he wants nothing to do with at all apparently.

So it turns out that "Dracula" that has 'appeared' in this entire issue (and the last three pages of the last issue?) is no other than Sarah Kenyon this whole time which apparently she has the ability to impersonate other people like Mystique?
Even Carmilla didn't know that was Sarah the whole time although it does explain why "Dracula's" eyes were solid red which might be the "flaw" of her ability that gives it away perhaps. So if Carmilla and perhaps the other lieutenants didn't know that "Dracula" was Sarah this entire time, I guess perhaps Sarah might be the only who knows the full picture of Dracula's plan given that she's the closest to Dracula's vampirism that he takes favoritism towards just like his thralls and the rest of his recruitments that did not share his vampirism or similar are nothing but tools apparently under the delusion that they're fighting a revolution but in reality, Dracula is just resuming his rather consistent ongoing "project" since 1897.
Now I wonder where the real Dracula is at....Then again it further shows how cunning he is....

It's very definitely in Dracula's character to slip away from opponents ready and willing to face him, all the better to strike at those much less prepared for him - just ask Mrs Mina Harker and the Van Helsing team of 189*.
