Description WARNING: LARGE IMAGE OF LARGENESS.

What's THIS? I actually made a TUTORIAL??

Yes. And I must say, after staring at a blank image for nearly 30 minutes before figuring out what goes where, I'm quite proud. ^^

This is tutorial #1 of 3 I have planned. The next two are of my most commonly used digital coloring styles. This one's just the beforehand method, so hopefully it answers some questions.

AND NO, NONE OF MY INKED PICTURES ARE EVER DONE ON THE COMPUTER. THEY ARE INKED BY HAND. Forgot to put that in the tut. XD

I knew that MnM doodle would come in handy~

That is so smart, with the multiply for the lineart layer. I was only adjusting the colouring layers.
I don't know how, and you use a different program, but someone said you could adjust the blackness of the lines by clicking Image -> Adjustments -> Curves, or CTRL+M (I use Photoshop 7) I have no idea if that's better or worse than brightness/contrast. Also it is handy to change the background to a layer by double clicking on the name of the layer, and pressing enter when that dialogue box pops up. Should be called Layer 0 then.
Thank you! This helps a lot. ~

No prob! I'm glad to know it'll come in handy!
Yeah, my PS doesn't have that "curves" setting, so I have no idea what you're talking about
AND-- since you're my first comment, help me out: should I do a tut of my OC-esque style ([link] ) or Cell shading style ([link] ) next? I can't decide.

w00t! 1st comment privileges. ^^
I don't know what you're talking about, but I think the colouring on the second one is more defined. Free to do whatever you want, though. ^^

Well, I'll be doing a tutorial of both styles, I was just wondering which one I should do first. So I guess cell shading it is.
