I finally doned it

ShoreScales most defining feature would probably be their unique, beautiful scales. The scales technically cover most of their body, but are much smaller and softer on their underside and face (and aren't on the horns, claws or sail at all of course). The only part without their special scales at all is the underside and tip of their tail.
The scales are hard, smooth and glass-like - but unlike glass, the scales aren't even brittle. Teeth trying to bite into a ShoreScale's scales would normally slip off before it had enough grip to make a dent - and fire breath or ice breath can go right over the larger scales without reaching the skin at all.
Of course their scales are breakable with enough force on an individual one (at that point you're probably already breaking bones though), extreme heat or cold will conduct through to the skin, and if you get a hold of one or a few scales at a time, it isn't too hard to rip them out. So the scales aren't indestructible, but they are pretty tough.
The worst thing for the scales would probably be acid, but no tribe on Chimarra has that.

Despite their impressive scales, ShoreScales have been tormented by SharkScales (SirenScales - renamed SharkScales from now on) for most of their history. SharkScales are predators to ShoreScales, and would relentlessly manage to tear them apart, no matter what island or shore on Chimarra they tried to hide. SharkScales would often drown ShoreScales, so not even their tough scales with extra armor was able to keep them safe.
Eventually the tribe managed to find safety in a large cave by the shore, in a cliff above the sea, where SharkScales could never climb up. Queen Myriad used her own claws to climb up their, despite not having the large adapted climbing claws way, way back then - she had painstakingly carved the way to safety and the future as the story goes.

Since inhabiting the seaside caves and cliffs, ShoreScales have been faring a bit better, but there's still a risk of SharkScales lurking anywhere - and since ShoreScales primary diet consists of seafood, there will always be a risk. It still isn't too uncommon for a ShoreScale to be lost to the ocean.

ShoreScales have sails along the back of their head across their spine that they can raise or lower. The sails are a sort of expressive thing, but most of the time are used to raise and glow brightly to warn other ShoreScales immediately to run away. It's kind of taboo to give a false alarm in the kingdom if you know nothing's there, since it can cause a commotion.
The glowing part of their sail isn't controlled too precisely, they can only glow the whole strip or not. But a light flashing glow is used underwater sometimes to communicate basic messages, kind of like a morse code.

ShoreScales don't know how to write or read, even though they speak the same language as everyone else on Chimarra, and what they usually use to record information is pictures. With water proof ink and stones or shells, ShoreScales will use their large climbing claw and/or their smaller ones to draw things out. Pictures are a weirdly understood 'language' between ShoreScales, and most if not all of them have to be pretty decent at drawing to communicate well. Drawing classes are their writing classes and ShoreScales have decorated large portions of their kingdom's main cave in awe inspiring history drawings, using multiple colors.

The only word that they don't draw, and actually know how to write out (which they write out by drawing the word) is Myriad. They don't know every letter of course, they just know the painted Myriad means Myriad. Otherwise most names are basically a picture that's marked in a way to show that it's the name of someone.

Two times in their life, ShoreScales will naturally shed most of their larger scales at once. Sort of like baby teeth falling out for the bigger ones. Once is when they're 7 and then again when they're 10. They might be a bit more vulnerable for a day or two, but the scales should grow back unless that part of skin was badly damaged in the vulnerable period. After that, occasionally an old scale will get loose and fall out on its own, but it's not usually a problem and it grows back in a few days as well.
Even if a scale is forcefully ripped out, it hurts a lot, but it would eventually grow back.

All scales that fall off are thrown into the ocean by ShoreScales, and the scales often appear occasionally on all the shores of Chimarra to be picked up and used in accessories by land tribes quite often (mistaken as pretty shells of some kind). The scales are also especially worn by SharkScales, who find them quite flashy trophies.
Some SoarScales will make a hobby out of trying to find specific colored 'scaleshells' to make into a pattern or match into a certain necklace or something.

(In theory if you gathered enough scales you could make armor out of them, which would be interesting)

(And also maybe some scales have found their way to Pyrrhia or Pantala somehow, where they'll never know the true origin of the pretty 'shell')

ShoreScales' vulnerable tails can actually detach in a pinch, say if a SharkScale was dragging them down by the tail for instance, hopefully allowing them to get away. Detaching their tail is quite uncomfortable and somewhat painful for ShoreScale's though, but the tail would grow back eventually after 6 months at least - or might not grow back at all in some cases.

ShoreScales somewhat have night vision, but it isn't as good as SharkScales or SlimeScales. They can see really well in water though, as long as it's not too far down.

ShoreScales have a Queen, who traditionally trains her firstborn daughter to be the next Queen. If the Queen dies and then her daughter will become Queen. They don't have any blood death battle at all, and usually the thought of the daughter killing the Queen or the Queen killing her daughter is shocking to ShoreScales - they'd never have a tradition like that!

ShoreScales eat pretty much anything seafood, especially crustaceans or mollusks (they'd probably like eating snails too, if they found 'em). Fish is enjoyed as well if they can manage to catch it.

ShoreScales have names that are usually sort of simple if that makes sense. They don't always have to relate to the sea or caves, and are often just based on the dragon's appearance - like 'Blaze', 'Shimmer' or 'Aqua'. It can also be animals, though it usually isn't anything specific like a genus name or something (remember ShoreScales are communicating this name in pictures)

Before ShoreScales almost went extinct, they actually had a naming system with family names, like surnames that would get passed down by the mother. But by now, it's pretty much nonexistent besides the royal family's lineage, which are all 'Myriad'. And because of that all Queens are Queen Myriad (then put their given name here maybe).

ShoreScales have barely interacted with other tribes since they mostly went into hiding to avoid being killed by SharkScales. But there might be a chance for ShoreScales to interact more with the surface tribes in time. For now, occasional run ins with SoarScales might happen.
