modified and repainted nerf longstrike.mods include:
-removed air restrictor in the bolt
-modified clip assymbly to more easilly remove and replace clip
-modified stock assymbly to allow in-play removal
-removed inner barrel of barrel extension to allow less drag on darts fired through it.
-pipe ring addition to bolt spring to allow full spring compression
-tactical rail 6-dart holder custom built using the flip up sight
-flashlight addition on removable forward barrel
-custom paint

If I gave you my long strike, how much would you charge me to make it look like that gun but with red and black? :3 That gun is really awesome and i was wondering if you customize for a prize? If not i under stand.

The shipping costs alone would be a lot. Β You could do this modification on your own really simply. Β Look up some tutorials on youtube on how to take the gun apart, be careful to remember where all the springs and screws go... Β Get all your paints together red and black...
I would start off by painting all the pieces with a base coat of flatt black. Β then tape off the areas you want to remain black, and re-paint the remaining areas with your red.
If your unsure about taking apart your long-strike start with taking apart a maverick or another smaller gun and do a re-paint on a simpler gun first before moving to one like the long-shot that has so many pieces.

How did you Attach the Flashlight to the barrel extension?
I'm looking to do similar to mine, but I'm stumped on finding a good method....

electrical tape... lol. Just a few wraps around the flashlight and the open spots of the barrel extension. simple but effective.

3M and Hot glue worked well for mine....

it's a section of PVC pipe. The original gun's barrel attachment that went onto the end was too restrictive and the darts would bounce around inside it. I removed the internal barrel and replaced the end with the modified piece of PVC pipe to add the "suppressor" look to it.

I want to do something simular to this as a cosplay project.
I would prefer o do a longstrike like this with a realistic paint job for a zombie hunter idea I have cause my gf is really into Res Evil.
Any helpful Ideas on how to paint it? oh and how did you do the flashlight?

the flashlight is litterally just a taped on LED flash light. lol.
the easiest way to simply paint one of these is start with a flat black base coat and then mask of sections you want to paint with masking tape, paint a color on, mask of where you want that color to stay, paint the next, mask off, paint again, so on and so forth, then remove the tape.
if you feel up to it I recomend taking the guns apart before painting, but if your not modifying the internals then it's not worth the trouble, just paint one side at a time, or try to prop the gun up so you have 360 degree access.

I'v been using spray paint on my nerfs, but Now I can't find the colors I want

I used several different brands of spray paint. I think I bought it at wal-mart and Lowes hardware store. You should check any of your local hardware store's spray paint sections or Wal-Mart.
Rustoleum paints are the best for metallic colors.
I always start with a base-coat of flat black and then use ALOT of masking tape to do the different layers. best thing to do is mask off in small bits, so start with the color that will be seen least, then mask over the sections you want to KEEP that color on... then spray on the next color, then mask off where you want that color to stay, then spray one the next, so on and so forth... until finally you can unmask everything at once.
Some of the silver accents on this gun however I came back and hand-painted later using a silver testors acrylic paint instead of a spray-bottle.

for that matter the whole front barrel attachment serves no purpose. if it didn't look so awesome on there I'd have removed it all together!

You know, of all of the great additions on this gun, I may like the flashlight the most... it just feels so right being there. Course the clean, cool paint job doesn't hurt either.

oddly enough that's the simplest thing I did to the gun! I just used some electrical tape and wrapped it around the flashlight on that under-barrel tactical rail and called it done....
the paint job was tedious. Probably the most masking, unmasking, re-masking, and painting in between that I've ever done on any project.
