Nice turorial! But my version of SAI doesn't have the option "Luminescence to Transparency" at all. Like it's completely absent. I've been wondering if there's at least some way you can make the color layer above the value layer, and color using a tool that makes transparent color without clouding the value layer below... I haven't been able to find anything like that...
I was ecstatic that this was a way for me to color my grayscale paintings... Until I realized that "Luminescence to Transparency" was not even an option in my version of SAI.

You don't need to do the "Luminescence- transparencey" actually. i learned this a little while after making it. The layer you'd use that for, just set it to Multiply. Does the same thing 
And the absence is definitely weird :T
