Description
This past weekend, my family and I decided to take Josh on a day trip to Vancouver BC (Canada) and we visited the Capilano suspension bridge. We were on our way back over the bridge to the gift shop and I decided that I wanted a perspective photo of the bridge. Josh had already started walking over it, so I took the photo with him, thinking I could always edit him out if I needed to. Best thing was that when I looked at the photo, I found that it was much better with him in it than without. I scaled it to grey, boosted the whites and darkened the blacks a bit, and added negative space to enhance the visible area. I'm happy- mostly because Josh likes it.Related content

Oh my...
You have managed to get the exact fading quantity in this picture. Somehow it makes me think of a transition between two contrasting places. Or your friend adventuring into the disturbing and mysterious fog on the other side. Anyhow, the DD is well deserved.

Heehee thank you very much! It took me a while to get the fade just right, but I'm glad you like it. It's interesting how much deeper it feels than the actual moment was, but then black and white tends to do that, doesn't it?
Thanks again.

Hehe actually no, I decided to edit that out in the print version. The print looks slightly different, especially in pixel ratio, but hopefully it's just as nice. Thank you!

What a great title. I think that's one of the first things that drew my eyes.. . well. . . that and the pic of course. ^_^ I really like the shot too. The way the light falls and envelopes the bridge is amazing. It's as if it were almost special effects. Great shot. The fact that you can see the outline of the leaves and such brings a lot to the pic as well. You know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words? Well, this one is worth just as many, if not more.

I think the way it is is fine. The white that some people say is too much plays into the title. It is GORGEOUS. You have a great eye and obviously a great talent for photogrpahy. The blacks are as beautiful as the whites and I can't find a flaw in there. You give meaning to picture perfect. I'm glad that they did a daily deviation with your work because I get the pleasure of seeing your work. Beautiful.

It is a great perspective shot, but you're right: leaving the person there evokes all sorts of feelings of traveling, leaving, making a journey or a difficult decision, etc. Really nice feeling here. Great work.
