PERSONALITY
Overview
Pan is, overall, a Diligent dog at heart. When they set their heart to something, they go through with it full of passion and devotion, determined to get it done consistently. They're not someone to half-ass something. They're honorable, and keeps their word, and trusts others intentions. Patient and more of a deliberator, Pan analyzes and watches situations to gain the most they can, before making a final decision. Because of this, they can be seen as more of a slow thinker, but really, they're just looking through every single outcome. They keep to themself, they doesn't like confrontation and likes to keep herself secret. Riding along with their secrets, Pan likes to ‘listen in’ so to speak. This can probably be attributed to their past, but they loves knowing your secrets and what can be used against you. Once you get to know them, they're a very reliable dog.. they also has a bit of a selfish streak, but they would never tell anyone. They're realistic, and know life probably won’t end well. And above all, they're working on honesty, but is that risky?
Positive Traits
{Reliable, Honorable, Patient, Devoted, Passionate, Well Meaning}
Once you get to know them, Pan becomes someone who you can turn to whenever. They never had someone to rely on, so they like to give people someone they know they can rely on. But only if they know they have good intentions. Very few have the ‘I won’t spill your secret’ card. Pan always keeps their word, they always respect what one has to say or do, despite if it is questionable. Everyone had a reason for something, it was usually good intentioned, how can you look down on a decision without knowledge?Patience is a virtue, and Pan has always been a patient person. They understand patience can put you in a good eye, as someone who cannot wait can come off as annoying and pushy. They've generally had this as a trait since the beginning, as you can only wait and wish for a miracle. When Pan finds something they believe in, they try their hardest to stick with it and become a part of it. Whether it be an idea, or someone physical, they like to keep loyal to someone, as it gives them some stability. And keeping loyal and devoted to a cause can keep you alive. When it comes to their interests and tasks, Pandora pours as much passion as they can into it. They're a hard worker, and it shows through the passion they put into something. However, slowly, pandora has begun to adopt the trait of well meaning. She is gaining friends, but has a warped sense of friendship. What do you mean, stealing and giving the stolen items to someone is illegal?
Negative Traits
{Cunning/Sly, Manipulative, Indecisive, Non Confrontational, Secretive, ‘Slow’, Hedonistic}
Lurking behind corners and eavesdropping on conversations, that’s where Pandora likes to be. They know when people are talking, it became easy to detect. And they knows how to blend in, in order to get information. If they can hear you… why not store that information and use it for later. It could become… beneficial, in the future. To put it simply, it takes Pandora a while to think things through. Meetings and confrontations out of the blue are difficult for them, as they like to prepare and organize before something is done. They would be someone good to put in a strategist seat, as they consider everything. However this has more negatives than positives, as it tends to slow things down and make them nervous. Overall, Pan doesn’t like confrontation. They like being alone most times, and tend to avoid others on the off- chance something could go wrong. They never really trusted the people around them, and unless they have done something to have the okay in their mind, they sticks to themself. Keeping secrets is a learned habit, they knew from a very young age the only way you lived around those you didn’t know was if you kept your mouth shut. The less they know about you, the less they can do to hurt you. Change is not something to comes easy to Pan, They have always struggled with it. So it takes them a while to settle in, get comfortable, and begin to trust anything. It makes the process of fitting in or being themself much harder, and it affects how many see them. They'd never admit it, but Pan likes to be… indulgent. They enjoys time and things for themself, it’s a habit from when they were younger. They keep it quiet however, as they doesnt know how being a bit self indulgent would be treated in the Strays.
Developing Traits
{Honest}
Honesty has never really been something Pan relied on. They always kept what they really felt to themself in order to appease others. However, as they realized lying can’t get you everywhere, they are beginning to become more honest. It takes a few prods to get the honest answer, but they are working on it.
HISTORY
Pre-group History:
Pandora's mother, a Staffy/Coonhound, and her father, a Basenji/doberman, were accidentally paired together. It was breeder error, sending the wrong dogs to the right people, and ending up with... mutts. Exactly what they didn't want. Pandora never knew her father. Or really, her mother.
She had two siblings in her litter, Pithos, and Hesiod. She knew them for four months, maybe. They were sold for a very low price early on. A breeder didn't want mutts tainting their business.
Pandora was sold to a family of four, two parents, two kids. It was the classic, 'problem dog' story. She ripped up couches, socks, shoes. She barked at neighbors and got off her leash to dig up the backyard. They weren't willing to work with her, so she was put up on a website for $50, and bought, again, at 6 months old.
This time, it was a rough man who knew how to break stubborn dogs. She was equipped with a shock collar, and within three months, was re-trained to be a quiet, obedient dog who was terrified of humans. That's where it started. Once she was sold again, she ended up at the hole of an older woman, the kindest woman you would ever meet. The one who stopped you on the street to compliment your hat, or baked her grand kids cookies. IT was the perfect person for Pandora, quiet, fragile, nice. And it worked out, for a couple months. Six, to be exact. But the woman was old, and she had a lot of retirement money. And she was easy to rob.
It was a cold night, when a man broke into the house, aiming to steal jewelry, or something. They never found out.
Pandora had always been a bit... aggressive. But, it had been shocked out of her. So when the man broke in, and Pandora recognized a real threat, it woke something problematic, buried deep in her chest. A little seed that had been hiding for months.
She attacked the man, who was not expecting an 80 LBS bully breed. The police got there quick enough, she didn't have enough time to rip his hands off.
Either way, it was a bloodbath, and she was immediately deemed dangerous. So the police gave the woman a choice, put her down, or a lawsuit would be filed. The woman didn't have the heart, so she drove her as far as she could in one day. She dropped her off at a farm owned by her nephew, and drove back. Pandora never saw her again.
The nephew wasn't bad... he was just.. neglectful. She was left alone for days with nothing to do. So, naturally she ran away. She skipped towns and hardened herself, learning to feed off of scraps and distrust humans. She was taken to pounds and kennels, and broke out. She learned how to survive. She learned the dirty way, when she encountered a pack of strays, running a small town. They took her in, and melded her into a rat, stealing from humans, and listening to gossip. And she prospered. It was truly her talent, thieving. Yet, nothing could last long. The group was demolished by a group of townsmen with guns. They killed anything that moved. Pandora was lucky to get out.
When she was running, she jumped in the back of a U-Haul to hide. The doors were closed, and she was locked in.
She spent days in the truck, and was nearly dead of dehydration when it stopped. It stopped in Canidale to re-fuel and sell something. The second the doors were opened, she shoved past some very confused humans, and ran for the first hiding spot she could see. She's been there ever since, looting and prowling through the streets.
