I heard she bit a man at the time of her rebellion.
Oh, but for sure she's already fought with some dogs! I've never seen her turn her back on a fight.
She was almost captured by the Pound in another city.

Don't ask about her past unless she speaks first. She gets very angry.
She likes to know if all strays dogs are okay. Life on the street is very difficult.
If you are hungry she helps you with some tricks.

Sage is always one step ahead of other dogs. There is nothing worse than ignorance and having to listen to dogs gifted with little intelligence is a shoot in her brain.

She likes communicating and being with other dogs. After her past she tries to trust more in her specie than humans.
However, it doesn't mean that she wants to be always surrounded by dogs. She really appreciates her space and her time alone.

Sage, did everything to become an independent dog and not have to be asking anything to anyone. Of course, if a human gives her food she will not walk away from it. It's too difficult to refuse food when you are very hungry.

She is also very good at stealing things.
Sage is very direct in what she thinks and tries to leave nothing to say. When she doesn't agree with something she says, or when she doesn't like the other dog's attitude, she speaks without fear.
Since a pup she has always enjoyed exploring, and it has become more and more frequent to want to know what exists beyond what she sees when Lucy passed away. So, if any dog wants to live an adventure, Sage is always ready. But you can be sure that you will not always have an easy personality with her.

Sage tries to trust dogs more than people, but the truth is, that it's not always easy.

There are times when she is afraid if she should trust that dog or not, if what they says is true or not. Are good or not so good intentions beyond that smile? Does them just want to use me?
She lost everything and when something to her is important, she will become possessive towards that dog (or something, like an object). It is not by bad intention she thinks. She’s afraid of losing already the little she has. Many times it can lead to aggressiveness to whoever she finds a threat.
Sage's aggression may also appear when someone confronts her or provokes her. She will not turn her back. Sage has nothing to lose. For her, she has lost so much.

History

Pre-Group History

Sage was adopted in the Canidal Kennel when she was little (2 months old). As such, she has no memory of her mother or her siblings.
She grew up in a beautiful country house with her family "The Alberts". Without any difference she was treated as part of the family along with the old Rough Collie of the family, Carter.
Sage loved the place where she lived. Wake up and see that beautiful landscape, full of color and Light.

Being able to leave when she wanted to, be with other dogs from other families nearby (or more distant) , be with the other farm animals. She had a good food, a great bed, and without missing, the old friend Carter.
She had everything she wanted.
But Sage, what she liked most was her little owner, Lucy. She loved her so much- of course she also liked Lucy's parents , but, as they say, a dog chooses only one person to truly love. And Sage had made her choice.
Lucy was 16 years old and she loved when Sage was going to wait for her school bus near their house. They loved to take long walks and play at the dogs park and along the beach.

Unfortunately Lucy had a poor health and was sick with the passage of the time.
Lucy couldn't go out or go to school. So Sage started to stayed with her in bed to keep her company every day.
Sage was worried, sad. She didn't understand what was happening...
Lucy one year later spent her days in the hospital and Sage just wait every day, at the normal time for the bus that never appeared.
Lucy never came back home.
Sage was able to see her for the last time in the hospital.

The family was destroyed and Sage wasn't the same cheerful and fun dog. Carter had died a year before and Lucy was no longer with her...
Her owners started arguing, days after days, Sage began to spend more and more time away from home as if she were a dog without an owner, without a home. Invisible in the eyes of whom she trusted.
The separation of the couple was total destruction, Sage stayed with Lucy's mother, who lived in a depression due to the death of her daughter.

Sage started to spent days asking for food to the family neighbors who, knowing what was going on, started to give her food and sometimes shelter.
She began to venture further and further away from the City of Canidale. Away from everything.
Until one morning her owner was no longer at home.
The door was locked, and Lucy's mom was gone. She was finally forgotten, left behind.

Sage started to spends her days wandering aimlessly. Trying to stay away from the countryside, away from anything that reminds her of her past.
A year later, Sage was already living in the city.
The marks of the past began slowly to stay behind.
Learned to be independent and to need no one (well, she tries her best). However she doesn't deny how good it is to be with someone.
Sage knows that what she needs is a life goal. Maybe things can start to change.
