Wow, thank you. I've been having trouble spacing out the front and back haunches for dogs like German Shepherds or Blue heelers, and they end up looking like gigantic Daschunds -_-'

I've had that happen to me before! Kinda bounced between too short and too long lol. I got a bit rusty with my feral creatures there for a bit.
Taking a look at whatever animal I'm trying to draw and doing quick lil sketches of just the pose helped me feel things back out I think.

Question. Is it much easier to draw the bones^ first, to help get an idea of how you'll make the animal stand?

I know this comment is rather old now but I'd like to answer, or try to answer your question anyway!
I find it helps me a lot, yes.
Helps me flesh out a pose that I think will flow well, and it helps me keep my drawings on the paper lol. I used to just start drawing way back, usually with the nose, and sometimes I'd find myself reaching the feet or even the knees and I'll be runnin off the page.

Ah. Yeah. Doing this did actually help me for awhile. I just quickly sketch the bones then the outside, then draw the lineart.

interesting, I normally only draw a circle for the head then thats it. I normally work from there o. o this would help though for other poses Id like to draw
