Description I put a lot of comments in the tutorial that would normally go here because I wanted to make it easy to share around the internet.

So go ahead! If you like it, share it wherever you want. (StumbleUpon would be neat!) You can even copy and paste it. As long as you don't alter it, you don't even have to worry about crediting me because it's taken care of in the image.

I'd like to know if you send it somewhere. (Just curious )

Edit: Just in case you're wondering, I didn't steal this. My old username was Mystic-Marbles.

For an even more unstructured format, I could see people making this with an unruled notebook (which are a little harder to find). I get this idea from the way I write notes (on pieces of plain white paper) about my clients in my office jobs. I think I discovered the pleasure and convenience of writing notes on unruled/unlined paper back in late high school or early college, where... *goes off-topic*

Unlined paper would be wonderful for an even bigger sense of pure unstructured freedom....but sometimes I like to sketch diagrams and plan jewelry designs, and subtly-lined paper is great for that, so I'll just put up with it I guess.

Speaking of diagrams and planning, you ever make floor plans of your home according to feng shui ideas? I almost started doing it, ever since I decided to get unlazy and finally harmonize my bedroom... But never had time to finish even the planning stage.

this is such a great idea! so like you just use it to sketch out jewlry designs and such and set up a 'due date' so to speak for them or something? (sorry, i want to make sure i read that correct )

Pretty much. Jewelry designs, appointments, and due dates for anything really. It works the same way as a regular planner, only without the all the restricting organization.

Ah, ok i see, yea i'm terrible when it comes to orginazational skills (i have ADD so badly !) but this will be great because i can also put my work schedule into it as well and then i'll finally remember my hours since they are constantly changing :/

I had a friend from high school do something like this! The planners the school handed out had little-to-no space to write our assignments - there was only a small square of lines for six to eight classes worth of homework. So she just took out a notebook and made each page equal a day. I'll have to take both of your advice! XD

Yeah, the "generic planner" design was based off of the planner they gave me in high-school. So crowded

I think this is a pretty good idea. I've never been a big planner fan either, but just using a notebook and designing my own, I think that would work better.

This is a great idea and so easy to overlook. I always want to use a planner, but I feel like I waste it.

I feel that way too sometimes, but this planner makes it easier. I figure if I don't use it for a week, then that page has just turned into a sketchbook page. On the other hand, whenever I NEED to use it, it's there for me!

I really need to get into the spirit of using planners. Your idea is brilliant! I just need motivation to use one... Calendars and mobiles work for me.

I've never gotten the hang of electronic planners for some reason. One of the downsides of having a "dumbphone", I guess.

Mine just has a basic calendar! Most of my organising is done on Outlook calendar. ANything else is on note-lets stuck around the place!

very neat idea! I have done something similar this year since I am only taking comission on certain months I made a daily planner for those months - the rest of my life is up in the air though!

Yeah...the ideal planner is customized for each individual person based on what they usually need to write down and the extent to which they like to organize things.

Me? I have yet to find a consistent way to organize things which makes this one perfect for me.

I totally know the feeling. Sometimes I am actually really organized and planned out (like with my commissions and such) but other times I am just going with the flow and trying not to drown (like my 2 kids school/soccer/band schedules)!!

I actually have 2 homemade planners now. My commission one has been updated to a 3 ring binder with loose paper. I have both lined and plain blank paper in it and folders that I place all my reference pics and such for my plush/doll commissions. The lined paper is of course my calendar while the blank is for drawing out ideas for the plush, making notes, and testing colors etc.

My other planner is for the school/soccer/band stuff as mentioned earlier. It is actually a nice undated journal my hubby found and bought for me because of the picture on the front. It has these little pocket like dividers that work great for holding schedules, music, newsletters etc. And the dividers work well for dividing it either by kid or activity when it's one they share!

So kudos for going your own route!

I haven't filled up my planner because of laziness. I just love to doodle. lol.
Thanks for the idea.
