Description A friend recently had some trouble with the expression sliders on their model not working on preloaded motions. Maybe more people have had trouble with this too. It's pretty annoying.

When facial expression sliders aren't working when you load a motion onto a model, it's usually because the JP side names are missing, or aren't matching up correctly. Here's how to fix that! ^^

And, when facial expression sliders show gobbledygook or blank spaces when you load a model, it's usually because the EN side names are missing or are filled in with foreign language characters that your computer can't load properly! Here's how to fix that too.

Hope it makes sense! It's easy when you know it but hard to describe without pictures

Helpful resource:

This facial expressions and names chart by is incredibly useful and convenient, and contains a good chunk of the standardized Japanese slider names, in case you accidentally deleted the JP side name and need to correct it! Saves much time.

Please notice if you click it, that Xoriu has a .zip file download available on this link, that contains both the full .txt file with the names listed, plus a copy of the chart. Very useful.

Helpful resource #2:

The diagnostic tool that is referenced at the very bottom of the post is absolutely invaluable in helping when bugs happen to your model. It exists in all versions of PMXE; you just have to know where to look for it to run it and check for errors. As an added bonus, when you run the tool, you can copy/paste the report into Google Translate to understand what it's telling you better!

If anything is unclear, let me know, I'll try to explain it better. Hope this helps!

I have a problem with a specific slider,
If you think you could / would want to help here's a link!

I really need Slider helpSo, my model doesn't have the slider for follow me eyes / "dead" eyes, where the eye goes back into the white,
instead it becomes transparent.
I do not want that.
So I got ride of the transparent one,
and followed THIS tutorial for finding the menu,
but instead of following it perfectly (since It's made for ears becoming smaller not eyes moving backwards)
INSTEAD of shrinking, I moved the eyes back.
The slider works perfectly, and I named it correctly (I think)
But when I load a motion that has this slider, it doesn't work, and the eyes just stay the same and don't follow the camera.
How do I fix this and what did I do wrong?

Chances are I might be able to help? I'd have to look at the model's file.

If you upload the model to your stash and send me the link (and the name of the problem slider to save me time) I'll give it a look.

I might if you promise to take good care of him ;~;

In order to test if you've fixed it I would suggest downloading THIS Motion, and not loading the camera but instead set your camera to the side of the model, and as soon as the eyes open they should be following the camera, but they don't right now because I guess the motion isn't recognizing it can use the slider??
I dunno, because the slider its self works, but this motion is supposed to use the slider, yet it doesnt.

Anyway, the Slider is "恐ろしい子!" or "Follow Me Eyes" and its number 75

I'll send the model through a note!

Thank you so much for even offering ;u;

Well uh, I saw this after already working on the model slider haha oops

The followme slider actually can be used when making still images, too, which is really cool. You don't even need a motion to use it; it's all the camera angle. This is like my favourite slider and most models do not have it.

Anyways, I tagged you for a tutorial on how to fix what needed fixing, and send your deer child back to you in Notes with the fix on the slider; it works now, and I tested it with the motion now too and it looks good. Let me know if it makes sense and was helpful ^^
