It's fall, and all the tomatoes are ripening at once, leaving Alex and her family overwelmed by the amount of picking they need to do, thus Alex invited some of her friends to come over and help, with a spaghetti dinner and being able to hang out with firends as reward. Rebbie chatted up a storm with Alex, while Nick pulled on a pair of her old overalls, and the three of them went out to the garden to pick until sundown.

Classic seasonal work! Sadly where I live many locals see it as below them now... only too make a stupid fuss about it when foreign workers (usually students) take it.
Ok I admit I haven't done it but do other stuff.

Alex: *nods* same here, so there's a fair amount of migrant farm workers who drive up here in the summer, and then go back down in the winter when it's too cold for picking... I've be befriended a couple of them, but it's hard only having them around in the summer

They're usually some of the nicest guys out there, people who just wish too support their families.
