The Custodian-class frigate was initially designed to take on anti-submarine duties in Dawn territorial waters, but was often requisitioned to support fleet anti-submarine sweeps. The final design, therefore, included a 30-knot top speed in order to keep abreast of its escorted battle groups, and a considerable number of depth charges, allowing it to stay on long-range patrol without the need for frequent replenishment. In order to deliver such weapons, the Custodian-class is equipped with four depth charge rails and four depth charge projectors, allowing it a very wide sweep area and a very rapid delivery rate. A consequence of its relatively light construction and large ammunition load, however, is that should any enemy heavy artillery or torpedoes score a hit, the results tend to be fairly explosive. As such, it is not a popular posting, but a very necessary one nonetheless.Specifications:
