In this tutorial, I show how to add a flex despite the limit is reached, and without use blender, but just a notepad and some minutes of your time.
Note: this method works JUST for the .QC files that uses a .VTA file that contains the flexes, and not for the .DMX files, because for that, you need to have blender, to open it, to modify, etc etc...
This method is suggested for my enhanced source pack , and it's usefull for who wants to avoid to lose time to open blender and so on.
If you need to understand something, let me know.

I've tried this, but everytime I try to compile I keep getting an error that says "could not load file 'bodies\references_rd_enh.dmx'" What am I doing wrong?

Read it, but couldn't find anything pertaining to my problem. I'm starting to think it has something to do with where I pasted the flex in the QC:
(It's the 4 lines of text below the "flexcontroller eyes range" text BTW)

I never mentioned to put the line after the eye-controller. The flex must stay before the eye-controller flex, not after.
While about what you said before, it's a matter of path, because if the path is correct, then it works, otherwise write another parth, making sure that there is the file that it requests

But here's the thing: before I started compiling in Crowbar, I left all the necessary files in their respective folders. The only thing I did place in a separate folder was the QC file because it was the one I edited to include the extra flex.
Also, I've tried renaming the path for the files to match where they are on my computer (multiple times to be precise) but I kept getting the same error in Crowbar.

I don't know why you are having problems, because no one has ever reported that problem (and neither the other users did that)
