Thanks I have all this art I have from many years ago. Part of the reason I haven't posted them (not this one) but others were not what I think my friends expect of me. Those creations of 2005,2006, 2007 to I don't know when, date I mean were major. 100 hrs for most of the paintings. Pen work from 40 to 60 hrs. Nuts!

I think I'm going to start cutting great characters out of my work and know for sure people didn't see them in the full piece. Know what I mean. Some of those pieces have up to 160 different characters with the ones you can turn any way. Single view ones about 20 to 40. No way the 2 minute view they get you see but one bigger image. Wow, sorry I got a little wordy here.

100 hours?! That sounds like me when I could still use my 3D graphics program called Bryce! You know, I'm of the opinion that one should post what they want rather than what friends expect - as long as it's good work. I agree, your peices are complex - but that's just what I like about them! The hard part about developing a big following here is that you must constantly communicate with other artists about their work and keep that connecting flowing. It's hard work and time-consuming, but the bigger the following - and the increased contact - causes your "friends" to view your work and appreciate it more fully. They "get to know you" and want to see your work. And if you stop commenting/communicating for more than 2 weeks many of them start to drop out - and you have to rebuild your following if you have been absent for months - which I've experienced. You have to constantly "keep your art/face out there" and interact with other artists! I've found one can't do DA piece-meal!

you are so right. I was gone for a year and a half. It's a long story. Anyway, should I put this kind of time on da. A woman came into my home the other night and freaked with the art on the walls. She said, "where did you get this art, it's awesome" It really felt good to say I did them. She left with my postcard (about ten) and told me she has artist friends that would love my work.

The point. Shouldn't I be getting my work out there and seen instead of getting a following here on DA? The bottom line, Anita, is I want to sell my work. I want people to enjoy it for years to come. No one on da buys art nomatter how much they love it because they have enough of their own. Could I sell on DA. I know a few that revolve all their DA activities to selling to their following. There is a way to do it. I also see artists that are as talented as this woman and they don't sell a thing.

Now if your here simply to have your work viewed and make connections, and have artists take a closer look at your work that's fine, but that's not what I want and it is very time consuming and I should get my behind out there in the real art world. This would sound different on the phone and there's more to it then I just stated.

A few people told me there's a place in Florida that would eat up my work. Why aren't I spending time on getting my work into those galleries in Florida, etc, etc, etc. You understand my dilema with DA. You're so right. You have to post and comment constantly to keep your followers. However, even when I was constant on da I seemed to go through sets of friends about every year or more. They change, leave da, whatever.

After 7 years of being on DA I have about ten people I'd call friends (or comp friends) there is a difference. To think, Anita, how I hate texting and the length of this comment. Give me the phone any day.
Anyway, I do understand your comment fully and then some. It all comes back to what you want out of DA.
Maybe I should go on facebook and gain friends and followers of my art. Then send them to my gallery. What do you think?
