BLING.This was a terrific technical challenge. The entirety of this armor mantle was to look like brilliant shards of diamond. I dig rendering challenges, like water, fire, metals, and special effects. Keeps me thinking.
These technical excersizes will almost always be coupled with a pretty girl, since they're my other favorite challenging subject. I also like to paint them. HAHAHA! Double entendre.

The card is gorgeous. Not so sure I like it as a full size artwork, or at least on my monitor it looks too cg, like a video game or something. Still, it's cool!

When I saw this card foil, I thought my brain exploded from the awesomeness of the artwork alone. I was right. This is so amazing! I personally would love to have one JUST for the artwork! (I run a mono-blue deck with Jace Beleren in it)

Seriously, I don't know where to begin when it comes to describing the beauty of this piece. The card itself never shows enough detail, so I never knew that the armor was crackling with magical electricity where it was being held by the woman depicted in the art. Additionally, the hair has been given magnificent detail, as usual.
You are undoubtedly my favorite Magic artist, if not my favorite artist of all time.

That is really very cool. It gives me inspiration for my novel, which features a growing number of pieces of armor and weapons made from the leaves of a sapphire-tree. The leaves of my sapphire-trees would appear like your picture above once rendered into armor and weapons, only blue. [link]

I... really don't know what to say though. The refractions make it hard to make out detail, which isn't exactly a problem since I assume that was the intent. It kinda makes my eyes hurt though. >_<
How did you do this though? Did you paint the entire thing or render the diamond reflections after painting everything?
