BLING.This was a terrific technical challenge. The entirety of this armor mantle was to look like brilliant shards of diamond. I dig rendering challenges, like water, fire, metals, and special effects. Keeps me thinking.
These technical excersizes will almost always be coupled with a pretty girl, since they're my other favorite challenging subject. I also like to paint them. HAHAHA! Double entendre.

This was one of the rares I pulled in my first ever Magic event (Worldwake Prerelease), along with Gideon and Transcendent Master. I was one happy, happy White-loving Timmy New-player that day.
I've treasured it, its art, and its flavor text ever since.

Lol, I made this my background simply because my boyfriend likes to play this damn card all the time. He puts it on some of the stupidest things too! He put it on a 0/1 moth once and swung every turn because I had no flyers XD

Stunning! You can almost hear the diamonds tinkling as they fly around in little swirls, the colors are beautiful, and I can't even imagine the work it took to come up with all those refractive pieces. However you made this, it's amazing.

This is both one of my favourite cards, and favourite artworks in Magic. Now that I can see it in more detail, I like it even more. Great job on the rendering of the crystals. I could never do that in my life.

i wanted to replace an old card's pic with this....
just on a hunch i searched my DB for "celestial mantle"... uhh... the card exists already.... UHHH.... same pic... dammit. fail....
i'd like to see somebody play with this card and not lose to my deck in the 5th round
i can't really immagine, even with your explanation, through how much trouble you went creating this.
but i think it was worth it.
