Always liked the Dan Ketch Ghost Rider. Not really a fan of Johnny Blaze.Daniel Ketch, also known as Ghost Rider, is a fictional, supernatural superhero in the Marvel Comics universe. He is the third Marvel character to use the name Ghost Rider, following the Western hero later known as the Phantom Rider, and Johnny Blaze, the first supernatural Ghost Rider.

Sorry man, I started reading Ghost Rider with Ketch so he'll always be the greatest flaming skull in my book. Blaze can go suck it. I suppose that's how it always is as a fan, you latch onto the version from the time that you started reading comics. Dan Ketch will always be Ghost Rider, Wally West will always be the Flash, Kyle Rayner will always be Green Lantern etc. I suppose I should be grateful that didn't start reading comics with the Ben Reilly Spider-man

i started with Ketch too, but he still couldn't hold a candle to Blaze. No effense to your tastes, it's just how i see it

Always liked Ketch more than Johnny Blaze. Ketch had more of an edge to him, more attitude.

And Ketch seemed easier to relate to than Blaze. Even when he wasn't GR he was this hotshot stunt rider. Ketch was just an ordinary dude dumped into a really bad situation.

Can't remember what that situation was. All I remember was Blaze asked to be released as GR because it was taking a toll on his body somehow, and he was released. Ketch saw the motorcycle in a cemetery and approached it, touched it, and GR's powers were bestowed on him.

I think I remember that. Also, i believe it was said in the later comics that Dan was never intended to be GR and that it was supposed to be his sister Barbara.

I prefer the Danny Ketch version, probably since his started his career as ghost rider around the same time i seriously started reading comics. But Blaze is decent enough I suppose.

I love the johnny blaze ghost rider don't get me wrong, but I started with dan ketch and thought his story was waaaay better. it even had johnny blaze.... and vengeance... zarathos... so many flaming skull guys you couldn't go wrong. I dig the art man.

Ain't that the truth, man. I appreciate Johnny Blaze as well, but his time is over. Dan Ketch is the GR of my time and also one of the first comics I followed regularly every month when I started reading comics. I would like to see Dan back in comics in some capacity...I miss the character. Speaking of Vengeance..where is that Bandalino dude? I haven't seen him in years!

no idea man. they've made a few vengeance action figures so you would think something eventually would show up in comics. even though they were some favorites, its still good to see a lot of my favorites make come backs (if only for mini series) i'm still stoked that moon knight is back and i can't wait to see beta ray bill in something again to.

beta ray was in that omega flight mini recently. I would love to see darkhawk regularly too. I think i'll draw vengeance myself just cuz i miss him lol

But I wanted to add that, while I too prefer the Dan Ketch Rider, I am also a fan of Blaze. I liked the groundbreaking use of Satanic themes in those early stories (even though they seem almost cute by today's standards).
I remember one of the bright spots of the 90's was the Midnight Sons stuff. The only groan-worthy moments were when Frank Castle made the obligatory appearance. That guy was everywhere for awhile there.

I agree. I remember one of those Marvel Christmas issues where GR saved this blind child who had been kidnapped and the kid heard his chains jingling and felt the Rider's boots and thought it was Santa saving him.
