Description Knockout was a former member of Granny Goodness's Female Fury from Apokolips in DC Comics books. She escaped via boom tube and ended up on Earth. There she became an exotic dancer and tried her best to keep a low profile. Her hidden identity was that of a super strong stripper who worked at a club called the BoomBoom Room.

That all changed when she saw Superboy on the news. Desperately wanting to meet him she stole the Spear of Lono to get his attention. Shortly after Superboy showed up and their fight had begun she gladly handed over the spear but continued the fight, mainly because this was her twisted way of flirting. In this grudge match, she beat the stuffing out of him.
Superboy took a liking toward Knockout and thought he could change her. They formed a brief partnership and a relationship, but this was mainly Knockout's plan to make Superboy her "boy toy" and do whatever she told him to, even if it was cold and calculating.

Funny. I like how you did draw Superboy

I was trying to capture that cocky attitude he used to have before the titans

Yeah, that was the funny Superboy, not that super-serious adult-like Connor Kent (did I write the name correct?)
Only thing I find strange in almost all superhero-comics is that most villains or heroes canΒ΄t break out of certain clischΓ©es they are bound to. I mean, only because some came from Apokolips, it shouldnΒ΄t mean they are automatically bad persons O_o

it was nice that Superboy grew up! I mean, I wouldn't have been able to stand the funny superboy as an adult. Some characters have changed. Juggernaut reformed. Some of the Thunderbolts did, too. Unfortunately, I can't seem to think of any DC villains of note that have turned good...wow.

Oh, wait! There is one: Major Disaster

I really didn't forget him. But his good guy status is so tenuous. I really loved that superman issue where Superman went to various supervillains, offering them a chance to reform. It was great when he took Superman up on his offer. My problem is that eventually, one of these day, a superstar writer, Grant Morrison or someone else, will want to use him as a villain, completely disregarding his character development. And of course, DC won't want to piss off a best-selling writer and the next thing you know Maj D. will be killing innocents and eating babies and such.

Maybe... ThatΒ΄s always the problem about series that are written by different people. Who cares about continuity? But that was what caused those problems leading DC to create events like "Crisis on infinite Earths" and "Infinite Crisis" -_-

StevenVnDoom In reply to DasTenna [2008-06-01 20:28:34 +0000 UTC]

Who cares about continuity? I do! I've been reading comics for a while now, and those stories and their continuity are important to me. That's why I prefer DC over Marvel, because DC thinks enough about continuity that changing the continuity of major characters is not something done lightly. HAHA, that's why these changes are called "crisis". Three of my favorite DC titles are The Flash (Wally West), Starman (Jack Knight) and the Justice Society. Those titles do not disregard the past, but use it to make the present and future richer.

I do care, too I mean, nothing is worse than a story with question-marks that come from a different writerΒ΄s ignorance of certain character- or story-facts -_-

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

StevenVnDoom In reply to DasTenna [2008-06-02 11:43:37 +0000 UTC]

Exactly. And I don't have a problem with change. If the stories don't change they will become stale. What I do have a problem with, is writers being either ignorant or intentionally ignoring storylines of the past. I miss the old comics where any past event was cited in the story. Now that I think of it, those editors were definitely unappreciated for their attention to detail and continuity.

I found it was pretty interesting. It showed the youth and inexperience of Superboy. A kid with superpowers is still a kid, with crazed hormones. To see that he could be so easily manipulated by a crazy stripper shows that much!

she's quite evil looking none the less she rocks socks.. lol.. can't bring much simpety for him though.. you made him look awsome.. I just think he's a creepy charachter.. sorry.. not your fault.. you've even managed to make him look cool in my eyes so thumb up for you.. ^^

StevenVnDoom In reply to CatiProjectC [2008-05-30 15:20:57 +0000 UTC]

You're not entirely wrong on your assessment of Superboy. When he had his own title he was portrayed as a superficial, self-centered ass that meant well. There was this one issue that focused entirely on him being cool(looks, hair, clothes, attitude and catchphrases)! I enjoyed the title cuz I never really took it that seriously by now in retrospect I guess if I had known someone with that kind of personality in real life I definitely would have hated the jerk. lol!

..^^ see... and then my mother dares to say I don't have a judge of personal charachter.. ^^ I just knew he was selfcentered.. I could see it in his eyes.. *nods as if she's got the wisdom of an 80 year old* I'm good.. ain't I..

okay enoug joking around anyway.. your right.. as a charachter I don't really mind.. he wouldn't be my favorite charachter but people like him are needed in the comic world.. I mean if all super hero's were goody goods then it wouldn't be any more fun right.. ^^

when were talking superhero's anyway I think I'm having a sever case of x-men fever.. >.< Just wish I couldsee the x-men evolution serie..

Don't worry too much about the speed. Everyone works at their own pace. It's the intention, the work and the final product that ultimately matter and your final work is great.

little-angel-girl80 In reply to StevenVnDoom [2008-05-27 10:35:50 +0000 UTC]

I dont worry about the speed. But I mean, sometimes it would be great to work faster, cos when i work with one pic.i sometimes get new ideas, and then i have to hurry sketch (or colour) them down before i forgeth the pictures in my head. But yeah, its the results that count the most. ^^ Agree there.
