How did you make the ΓΌbercharge effect on paint.net?!

First of all, I'm quite honestly surprised somebody decided to comment on this old picture. Β
Second, I took two screenshots - one with the default models and one with the models having an ubercharge material over the top of them.
I then put the latter above the former, cut out sections to reveal the ponies underneath, then outlined the edges and did some fancy stuff I quite honestly forget the exact details on, but knowing me, it involved a fair bit of gaussian blur.
Afterwards, I made a glowing eye for Big Macintosh, then flattened the image and posted it up on here.
