Stottys Terragen ArtThis is actually Version 2 of Eagle Mountains, I had so many comments (thank you to all how contributed to that) about modifications people would like to see on that so here we are.
Most of the changes will probably be obvious, this is taken from the other side of the ridge looking the other way to capture some of the more bumpier terrain, the textures, well added tons more and bumped them up a bit, added a thicker atmosphere and mistiness in the valleys and changed the cloud formations a lot too, so many changes I thought perhaps a new title too.
Well, I hope you all like this version better, I certainly do, I know it has some really good possiblities for some great dramatic scenes, later scenes perhaps, but this has really been produced for :devzoaniod: for him to add his fighting eagle airbrush work to, so the drama has been reduced so it doesn't take over his art.

Hey, haven't been here in a while.
Anway, the distant mountain seems extemely uneven, even for mountains (if that makes any sense). That's just a picky point, the soft atmosphere and textures are great.

Very nice work I like everything about this but I think the only thing I'm not too sure about is the haze. Or should I say the amount of it. Gives it somewhat of a washed out look. Having said that, those mountains in the background look just great

The softness of color is what appeals to me the most, the textures are good, strong, but not overdone, the lines and flow blending well. This is a lovely piece, thanks for sharing your talent with us, once again.

Nice job, I like how you keep the ground close enough to use that great texture. The composition of this is also better, your eyes dart from right to left to right before following the horizon line. Another great job, and a nice improvment.

hmm.... this one certainly is better.... but i still really like the old one. i like how the mountains are framed in the back. great job, as usual, but you might want to enhance the contrast between clouds and sky... it looks kinda smokey up there

Incredible terrain! The little indented "river" i guess on the side looks very nice and the haziness just adds the perfect feeling to it.

I can't comment too extensively because I'm getting color banding from this computer.
Texturing, as always, looks terrific.
All I can say, is that the terrain looks too smooth. If that is a mountain in the background, then there should be some sharp edges. At present it's all completely smooth and not particularily realistic.

i love this! i like how the mountains close to you are all smooth, and the ones far away are pointy..and, i love the grass/dirt textures, they rock. And the slight fog, makes it perfect

Better than the last version. The mountain on the right looks great, the one on the left looks a little fake. The transition between mountain and hill is better. The sky is also better. The hill terrain bumpiness still looks off. Id like to see if you could keep going towards perfection with a 3rd version. I know you can do it...

this one probably is nicer than the other one...only thing i notice are that the left mountain looks like piles of sand and the fog looks strange, also some of the coulds could seem better if they were in front of the mountains, probably needs some trees but terragen cant really do that

its all very realistic and believable apart from a few areas, mainly the left most distant mountain range. it looks very smooth and almost fake. the right mountain is supserb, but the left one stops me believing its real.
another thing that catches my eye is the strange contrast between the grass and the mud in the forground. maybe losing the brown tones altogether and replacing them with more greens would look nicer.
i am not too keen on the lilac coloured haze that sits in this piece. dont get me wrong i think the haze is great, and i'd be tempted to add even more, but i'd make the colour itself more cream/brownish colour to give a nice ambience.
great work im just being hyper critical as i know you can do better.

your texture work is really awesome, any TG artist knows how hard it is to get your textures looking like this. I personally don't like the colours you used, and maybe the scene would look better if you had a small water stream running in the background. Just fix up those problems and bring the haze a bit down and I'll add it to my fav's
