Terragen as usualI am already re-working this but I guessed you would want to see this before I get round to completing the final version..I am working mainly on the water for the next version but comments as always will be most appreciated - hopefully I can incorporate your suggestions

I love the way the river kind of runs through these two different mountains. The one with the grass, and the one with the snow... Also, the sky is brilliant!

Not too sure about this as it is man, could be something special (probably will be if what you have already made is anything to go by), just feels like there's something not quite right?
The texturing is way cool just feels too sharp I think (not in places, overall), I don't know, you're the terragen artist, I just make enlightenment themes

Mmmmm....you are too good my friend. I agree that the water may be a little too pixelated, though I have said the same thing about real water It looks exactly like wet sand and the textures...and the sky....oh my gosh...this is the perfect Terragen.

Do you know of any web sites or tutorials that I can download so I can learn to use all those consufing settings and sliders? I know tuts are considered by some a scrub's way out but I like adding new effects to my bag of tricks and Terragen seems to have more than (almost) any other program I have messed with. Again, excellent work. You rock

it looks fantastic. I have no suggestions. It is really good. Great work with the water effect. To me I don't think the lighting needs any changes. It gives a sunset feeling. Anyways this is very nice. I said it before and I will say it again, that you take terragen to a whole new level.

This scene looks good already, just could use more lighting for the foreground, since the sun is suppose to shine through, right?
Also, its hard to see the shoreline because there's the white line that looks like its where the waves break, but then there's still water after it, though it's so transparent its hard to see.
Anway, it looks nice so far, can't wait to see the final version.

I think the bottom righthand corner may need some added light, because the sun is so bright and there aren't really any big clouds casting shadows there. And if you're going to keep those mountains as dark as they are you may want to darken the sky a bit (the blue seems a smidgen too light). I think that's all the criticism I can come up with.

On the whole, I think this is a terrific scene, and one of the deapest ones I've seen from you, feels like you can see for miles and miles.
a couple of things
there is something strange going on with the forground water. I didn't even notice it until I read the comments.
it seems like you have the 'Sorta Surf' plugin going on in this piece. . .but it doesn't happen at the closest shoreline, and actually appears to be in the middle of this little estuary here.
DO NOT screw up the water reflections you've got going on in this picture with a blur or some crap. It looks gorgeous, and we all know that terragen reflections always look pixelated to the untrained eye.
However, right around the reflection, the water looks a little rubbery, somewhat like my piece with the crazy reflections. . .but not as f*cked up.
Well, I agree with some person who said they don't like the textures in the background. For such a gorgeous scene, those big blocky hills look a little like something Disneyland used for one of their various 'lands' from plastic or something. Basically, it isn't quite up to par with the rest imo
Everything else I'm digging a lot
Maybe a little darker clouds for some more drama, and a little more contrast (just some gamma correction)
but otherwise I adore it.
Fix those things and you've got another winner!

I am in love with the lavender lovely, how those tones spill over into the mountains and earth, so subtly. I cannot wait until I see the finished project, because, to me, this is already beautiful.

The water in the foreground seems a little out of place though. I feel that bit of sand there should be the one to define the shoreline.

Hmmm... I'm wondering a bit about this one... For one, as kipton already pointed out, the clouds and sky, especially near the back, looks a bit flat. Next up is the water. I didn't actually notice the water in the foreground at first. May be it's a bit to transparent, but looks really good otherwise. For one I like the reflections and the waves. They look pretty good, although the reflection on the right looks like it's broken up.
Also, I think the sand texture in the front doesn't looks quite good. It looks quite heavy and I think there should be some grass shining through the sand (may be a fade between the two materials), since the transition between the sand and grass looks quite hard.
Me, personally, I don't like those white cliffs in the background all that much, but that's just my taste. Anyway, appart from the tings mentioned above, I really think this is quite a nice image and I'd love to see the final version.

Really excellent depth to this one Stotty , the lighting looks fantastic, great reflection over the water. The surface maps are also beautifully done - shoreline for example, where the sand seems to come up and lie on the grass - very realistic, the beach is very nice and the rocks look really good through the transparent water
I like how you made the cliff-faces, nice bright & smooth surface. Cool waves btw
