Beautiful. Judging by the angled hull surfaces on the vessel on the left, I would think they are for housing long range ballistic missile shafts.

Um, wow.

I really like how you're showing the ships differently by the different angles. The new one can be told apart from the others as "newer" at a glance to me.

My only nitpick is, why is the entire strike group one new ship, and a whole group of others? I would hope there were some carriers, and smaller ships tagging along as well?

Despite that slight realism miss to me, I find this a really cool picture. The visual alone of the star, the rays, the ships...yes, cool.

i dont even think he meant that comment in a malicious way. and to a certain extent he's right, we're all influenced by EVE.

Hmmmm. I play Eve Online (in fact, I'm playing as I post this). And I follow AFF diligently (hi guys, long time forum lurker). These ships are not from Eve, the image is not from Eve, it's the result of months of consistant self-criticism, re-appraisal, and quality work from a highly motivated team. Yeah, so I'm a fanboy.

As for the O.P., next time, try knowing what you're talking about, before opening your mouth.

I love how you stole this image from EVE Online.

's concept art for the largest ship: [link]
[link] my pre-texture render of the ship in the near final W.I.P. stage
's texture W.I.P. render [link]

's concept for the smaller ship can be seen as the second in this image [link]
's pre-texture wip [link] and final model + LOD [link]
And to top it all off a 3D realtime demo of the finished ship with official spec's [link]

Your talent for tasteless insult seem's to be blatantly backed by the fact that you appear observant as a blindfolded toddler.

So uh...which EVE-Online image is it that you are claiming stolen? Are you going to back your accusation?
Or are you just another Troll Mr. My only comment ever was to spinelessly slander the combined effort's of a highly ambitous and passionate team

First off, I'd like to compliment you on your ability to quantify and support your statement.

Now, I hate to break it to you man, but EVE doesn't have a monopoly on scenes with ships in nebulas... surprisingly the fact that none of these ships are in FACT in EVE, negates your statement by itself... But ignoring that pertinent yet obviously ignored fact, the simple matter is that, amazingly, putting ships in space does not, in any way, relate a picture to when EVE puts ships in space... surprisingly space is not yet Intellectual Property, nor are spaceships for that matter, nor, in fact, is color. An even bigger thing that you missed was the fact that this picture has quality, it was made by someone with both skills and intelligence. My advice to you, before you make another post, is that you look deep inside yourself and decide here and now if you have either.

madfox43 [2006-03-05 18:42:05 +0000 UTC]

Wouldn't those ships, um... melt?
Though I guess since it's a cool red star the corona wouldn't have nearly as high a temperature as a star such as our own.
And I guess it'd also have to be a Dwarf or else the ships would be sucked in by the immense field of gravity.
Or am I thinking too much?

Boggles my mind for physics, but very cool.

shielding is within acceptable tolerances for a short period. for the stealth effect, its worth it.
