Description Nothing to say here other than what it was said before which is pretty much irrelevant by now. It's a wonderful life indeed.

your work is awestriking to begin with, but the personal dedication you attributed to it makes it (almost impossibly so) more beautiful. My eight year old boy saw it on my desktop tonight, and I explained (as best you can to an eight year old) what inspiration means, and what it can move you to create. He just uttered a soft "wow", smiled, and stared at it quietly with me for a bit.

Thank you for the image, and for that moment.

submicron In reply to Katatonyk [2012-09-20 02:56:04 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so very kindly. It actually moved me to know you explained it to your own son. That's one luxury I don't have. A parent is like a god to a child. Don't ever let anyone take that innocence away from him.

My son loved water. One of his favorite son growing up was from Radiohead called No Surprises. Sometimes driving I would look at him through the rear view mirror and he would say Papa can you play the Man in the water.

Anyways, I haven't seen him in 4 years so not sure if he remember any of it or me for that matter. Thanks again.

Holy crap guys im running out of kleenex over here!
You are not alone, it has been 6 years for me without my boy, he turns 16 today, and says only 2 more years dad and will be together. Now that he has a cell phone i get to talk to him more. The pain we are involved with Cannot be expressed, so i sympathize with you, and without my influence he came to me, and he remembered, yours will too, and when the time is right he will need you more than ever, We must be the best we can be, and live this ONE LIFE! to its fullest my freind.

Yes, this was a very personal wallpaper to say the least. 2 Years ago I saw him but didn't have my glasses with me so just as well it was like not seen him at all. I think its been 7 years. The story behind the design was inspiration. When I use to drive him back to his mother I always played Radio Head's No Surprises. I recall now I had an iPod with some videos on it and No Surprises was part of the playlist. As soon I got into the car he will ask me to play the man in the water. If you seen the video is somewhat sad and nostalgic. The lyrics killed me every time I played it. The funny thing is the album came out the same year he was born... 2003. Such is life. But I agree we must live life and roll with whatever comes our way. BTW, no problems.

That makes it such a wonderfull peice man! My boy was born on the millennium and i would spend hours with him in my lap on my baby grand piano writing music just for him, just for fun. and that will always be ours, no one can take that moment, singing in the car...man i truly understand. so happy to hear your good.
Β It is clear you have a great sense of wonder, witch is rare and special, or maybe im old and jaded lol.
I have a Galactic perspective that gets me through the day, my dad gave that to me, and i see some of that in your work, you know, that deep thought of possability, and the trivial nature of it all.
Very cool man indeed.Β  Β Β  Β Β

This would be such an awesome animated DreamScene, with the bubbles rising from the module to the top of the screen!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

submicron In reply to Y-N-1-F [2011-09-11 10:30:34 +0000 UTC]

I have thought of that. But my skills are very limited. I hope someone does it one day.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Y-N-1-F In reply to submicron [2011-09-11 11:35:47 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it would look killer! If you could collect all the source-files (images, with transparency, like the bubbles, the module, and the honey-comb layer), it might not be that difficult to do with PS......
I'd like to see the module at the bottom rotate slightly, slowly, and, as the bubbles rise to the top, it would be cool to have the background pattern (the honeycomb behind the module) glow and fade.......
Man, that would look great!

submicron In reply to Y-N-1-F [2011-09-12 04:18:34 +0000 UTC]

You know more or less that's what I thought as well. But am taking about a full render here not just a animated GIF. Yes indeed it would look very cool. Some story could be told of this module. I wish I had the skills to animate the whole thing. It sure would've been something great for my son.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Y-N-1-F In reply to submicron [2011-09-12 05:15:16 +0000 UTC]

Yes, that's what I meant, full animated DreamScene-Movie rendering....Would look gr8!
With the skills you DO have, you should learn to do the DreamScene movies. All your wallpapers are fantastic, loaded with detail and subtle layers; they'd ALL look spectacular animated. I'm trying to learn, also, and making a little progress. But I'm also trying to get my 1st Win7 Theme created, and that takes up a lot of my time.

You know making something animated is truly wonderful, but the challenge is having something static and motionless.

Y-N-1-F In reply to submicron [2011-09-12 18:27:50 +0000 UTC]

That is true, Fernando.....To make a static image which APPEARS to move is indeed a very cool thing
