Thanks so much for this detailed step by step process! I was drawn in by your work as you've done an excellent rendition of Rorschach! Fantastic! XD

I faved this the other day and never got a chance to comment...so here it goes: ahhh, I love the painting and I love that you posted its progression even more. One of my favorite things is to look pieces in their stages of development because that's where you learn the most about the piece, the technique, and the artist.
This is a stupid question (not so much stupid as it is mundane), but how long did it take you to complete this painting? I only ask because I work primarily with oils and have never attempted something this complex in acrylics.

I'm not into watchman at all. But I saw this on the DD scroller on the bottom and my first thoughts were "how did they get away with doing that?" Then I popped up and you said it was a painting and I then thought, "No, it couldn't be its too realistic" then seeing this I need to punch myself but my god man! This is awesome!

I'm so glad you posted the steps you took. It's terribly interesting to me to see the process people take and the transformation from simple shapes to highly illusionistic. Very well done.

This is an amazing reference- I don't think this should be in scraps at all. It's VERY useful- Especially for other painters, like myself. I demand you resubmit this as a tutorial. <3

I love watching the stages of a painting, for me, this is even more enjoyable than looking at the final piece!

It's definitely a big help. More tutorials would be awesome; I enjoy learning new techniques to try. You were actually the reason I wanted to try my hand at painting. Oh yeah! What kind of a brush/size would you suggest for painting fine hair and stubble? I'm unsure of how fine to go.
