Description
It's been in there about 10 months now, and it's still not overgrown the bulb. Slow grower maybe?Edit: it's gone. To those curious; I removed the black glass insulator on the bottom allowing it to be watered and plants put in. Grab a light globe and have a look if you want to see

a couple questions and possibly some statements:
1. how did you do this!!! i want to try this
2. how does the terrarium get water. its a sad world if you stole this greenery from its natural enviroment to kill it
3. how did you get the glass part out of the screw in lightbulb im trying to make one of these with epic fails
ps this is one rad contraption

This is amazing! What plant did you use? How was the set up? I want to make one of these to remind people of how little it actually takes to make something so beautiful grow.

Thanks Not sure of the plant, it's a pretty common fern near where I live(not a native though).
Yeah I've been thinking about making a few and sticking them to a wall in the city, but they'd probably get a bit knocked around in transport.
You should make some, they're awful fun

Nah, I just placed about 4 lights on it. Could have done it much better, the reflection of the lights is a bit annoying. Ah well.

I hollowed out the globe from the bottom...now the top...then put a fern in it through the hole. Lots of fiddling with skewers, and i gained even more respect for people who put ships in bottles.

They're not going so well now. The stupidly hot days we had a few weeks ago almost killed them, and they're getting a bit big. Not bad though, they lasted more that a year Time to make some more eah.
